1. It's like rural groove but a bit busier
2. Silly question, but during these extended periods of non-playing, do you turn the volume down on your bass/mute the signal with a tuner pedal?
3. Do you use a single coil pickup? That can be noisy, especially if you are near an amp. Split/humbucking types will solve this. I believe you can also get hum-free singles as well
4.
i think making personal copy has always been legal; i think its distribution, publication, public performance etc thats always been the issue.
Previously, ANY copying of copyright content, even for personal use, without the permission of the rights holders was illegal. The law is being brought up to date (following the publication of the government's 2012 'Modernising Copyright' document) to reflect new technology use. There are a few grumbles about this private copying exception, because, like JTUK says, it is not crystal clear what can and can't be done with the copies, and the copyright bods want to enure that they/the rights holders will not lose out. http://www.ipo.gov.uk/hargreaves-copyright-techreview http://www.ipo.gov.uk/ia-exception-privatecopy.pdf Pedant Edit: document describes it as unlawful, rather than illegal - not sure what the difference is, if any?
5. For those who have hitherto been afraid to copy their CDs and DVDs onto their computers/phones/clouds for fear of the police squat team breaking the door down - fear not! From the first of October, this will be legal!
6.
I am going to be putting my Carvin up for sale, as it overhangs the 2 Markbass cabs (thanks again Barrie ), by an inch either side . Sad, yes, but I can see that overhang even looking into the eyes of the beauty in the audience
I'm right with you on that Karl - I can't abide a head overhanging on a cab. I can't rack my amps because it'll make them too wide - I'd rather put up with the extra haulage and connection effort :-D
7. Seems odd, as my Polytune could do low B no worries
8. Another vote for the DHA VT1 EQ
9. Just updated to IOS8 and am not impressed:
10. "I'm the lucky owner of a Fender Stratocaster belonged to one of the most influential musician of our time: the great Jimi Hendrix. Me and Jimi were real good pals back in the days and on the day of my birthday, after a long celebrative hike on the mountains, he surprised me with this incredible gift. What a surprise!" :-D
11.
Just snagged a blonde piggy-back Bassman after much searching, so thought i'd get some of my stuff out for a pic, so we have 3 x bass and rigs to add to this porn thread; '52 Precision and '52 TV Bassman, '58 Precision and '59 Bassman, '61 Jazz and '63 Bassman
One of the greatest decking/bassgear shots of all time. If, while you were taking the pictures, there was a sudden downpour, what would you grab first?
12.
This Mesa 400 will be going through a Ampeg SVT-210HE Classic.
I haven't played that particular rig, but I get the feeling that if you turn the volume knob up on the Mesa too quickly the cab may explode ;-)
13.
Guys, thanks for all your input! After some persuasion I got the money, and he kept his fugly bass!
Great, now he can sell the rare Steinberger and get his £900 back
14. Love it - it brings together old school electro and electronica in a potassium-rich package. Yummy. You are a skilful blender ;-)
15. Same genus (Acer) but different species. From my experience, maple is easier to work with being a bit less brittle and more consistent. The one time I worked with seasoned sycamore, it was quite knotty and a bit more difficult to get clean cuts.
16. The Big Al is such a Glam looking bass. You know you want one...
17. Mark just bought my rack bag. The communication was great and he was very punctual. Highly recommended.
18.
Well done, Maya! Me, I like the look in the face of that guy with the bass. He's in your band perhaps? (Seriously, I love that look.)
Haha, yes, definitely a proud dad moment
19. I've depped in a glam band a couple of times, and it was always great fun. As well as all the usual stuff we did Devilgate Drive, Virginia Plain and Teenage kicks
20. I'm currently on the process of re-refinishing my S8 P in Capri Orange. mmmmmmmmm
21. You have ten seconds to comply......
22. "Feel the Stagg" What film is that from?
23. Looking forward to hearing these ones - love the idea of a remix challenge. Assuming this is the same song that Skol remixed recently, there should be plenty of scope for variation for this great track.
