I made a template for some EMG TBCS pickups using 2 inch wide stripes of 19mm MDF. I used the correct size router bit to get the corner radius I needed. I got the MDF from eBay, it was a set of cut lengths from the craft section. I arranged the pieces around the pickup with a credit card along one long and one short side to give clearance in the routed cavity. I can't find any pics but this should explain how it is adjustable before glueing. Obviously the edges and corners need to be square.
An unused tin of Warwick wax.
£11.50 collected from DY13 area.
It's too thick for a large letter so postage would be small parcel size, £3.20 with PayPal F&F, or £4 with regular PayPal to cover the fees.
I emailed Clive a few years ago, he was very helpful, he even gave me the part number for the Series 6 EQ slider pots from memory. He also told me that he had binned all his TE drawings when he retired.
You can still use your onboard preamp, use the EMG volumes and connect the output into your preamp. I have active PJ EMGs connected to an Aguilar preamp in one of my Warwicks.
I've been looking at envelope filters recently, have you considered the Q tron? It is available as a nano size, but the slightly bigger micro is cheaper.
I would try emailing Fender customer services for an official answer.
I recently purchased an Ashdown head from Germany. I contacted Ashdown and they said the head would be fine in the UK, but suggested a UK power lead rather than a plug adapter.
I routed one of my Corvette basses to fit EMG TB size pickups, and made an adaptor plate with threaded inserts to mount the new pickups on(sorry, no pics)
Thanks for the review. I'm hoping to go on the course soon, I'm not available on the date Jon previously offered me.
It must be great to play a bass you made yourself from lumps of timber.
