  1. I was tempted once and ended up with 4 wooden neck Status basses. All have been great...
  2. Great bass from a top English company for not much money type bump!

  4. For sale is my Status Energy 4 string bass. This is a reluctant sale but an arthritic wrist has forced me to play short scale only from now on, so my standard basses have to go. I bought this a couple of years ago from Bassdirect to add to my wooden neck Status collection, it's fitted with a nearly new set of Status hotwire strings and plays like a dream. It's in good condition for its age and all the electronics are working fine. 5. If you like the stingray sound but the jazz feel how about a Status Groove. Slim neck profile with a Tri-max pick up in the stingray position, active/passive too.
  6. Just bought a bass from Si. It was exactly as advertised and he was very flexible with me wanting to come and see it at lunch time. After a quick chat the deal was done. Great guy to deal with. Many thanks
  7. I saw them quite a few times in the early days, they always wrote great endings to their songs.
  8. There are a couple of Klystron C410 combos on sale here, i'm sure one of them would be a good compromise.
  9. This is an absolute steal. For that price you can't go wrong. I have a 4&5 string Groove already or would have snapped it up in a heart beat!
  10. I have a black Stagg EDB that has only been played a couple of times if your interested?
  11. Manchester Bass Lounge In errr? Ah yes Manchester! http://manchesterbasslounge.com/
  12. I have a fretted and a fretless Wilkes and can confirm that they both came fitted with the Schaller 3D bridge, the pole pieces don't line up on either of them. From what i remember the pickups were Schaller bass buckers. The fretless needs a refinish on the body because a prior owner has done a poor spray paint job on it and i have often wondered about taking it to Doug to do the work. A few years ago i was lucky enough to get a Wilkes 5 string which has a home made brass bridge, presumably because they were not that common when it was made. They are great basses.
  13. Have an I'm happy but I'm sorry it didn't work out on your side of the trade bump from me!
  14. Im in Macclesfield and I would send the amp if the delivery cost was shared, it would work out to be about £20 each I think.
  15. Here is my view on this topic, a markbass amp and cab give you a very true representation of what your bass really sounds like, i realised this when I was in a recording studio a few years ago playing my parts from in the control room plugged straight in to the desk, my bass sounded very different than I was used to but in the final production it was just what the tracks needed and the band loved the result. I found it very difficult to recreate that sound live until I played through a markbass set up in my local music shop, I baught it there and then and have never looked back. If you want to hear your bass the way the manufacturer intended it to sound then this is the way forward.
