  1. When he builds in batches - how long does it usually take?
  2. Wow! My 2 main basses are 2.9kg and 2.6kg!
  3. The cab is part of the tone generation. That's why there are different choices. Amps sound vastly different with different cabs. FRFR cabs are relatively new in the bass world.
  4. Fixed that for you.
  5. That's lovely! Always fancied a 4 string version but the weight is too much for me, alas. Shame - they really do sound different to everything else.
  6. The tone I liked best was the Tonehammer DI without any cab on it at all!
  7. I don't do waiting very well! There's no hint of a release date either - so it could be 2 years away. Admittedly now that I've ordered the regular one it's very likely it will be released tomorrow! That's what normally happens when I buy something!
  8. I've given in and ordered one. Hopefully I won't get pinged by customs.
  9. On the Jive, do the switches stack or is it 1 at a time? Different YouTube reviews say different things!
  10. Piano player in a bar, playing old standards to a room that doesn’t care. This drunk guy wanders over and says “Do you do requests? I want to sing” Pianist says ‘why not. Nobody will get upset’ So the drunk guy says “ok. I want to do ‘Life is a bowl of cherries’ but I want you to play it in 5/4 time. Pianist says “But it’s in 4/4. It won’t work.” Guy, getting a bit aggressive says “I want ‘Life is a bowl of cherries’ in 5/4 time, pal!” Pianst says “ok, ok” and starts playing in 5/4 Guy starts singing… ”Life is just a bowl of f*ckiiiiing cherries….” (I had my coat on before I started).
  11. Anyone tried any of the other pedals?
  12. Nice. I’ve had my rack for about 5 years and I love it.
  13. Those Galli's look interesting but I think when they say "Chrome" they probably mean a Nickel Chrome and I'm allergic to nickel.
  14. I'm giving some serious thought to one of those. Sound great on guitar and bass by all accounts.
  15. Isn’t the 3 button Tonex under £400 as well?
  16. Ernie Ball Group flats. Stainless steel. Lovely things.
  17. That’s what she said!
  18. It's 4mm. I suspect you are not getting it into the hole far enough. The first bit is smooth. Can be a bit of a bugger to get in. Has to be at the perfect angle.
  19. Quick reply on a weekend. Great service!
  20. Ace. That will help. If you had told me I'd really love the short scale, narrow but chunky neck, and the tiny string spacing at the bridge I'd have said you were mad. But with a good pickup and a set of La Bellas it sounds absolutely fantastic.
  21. I'm playing my Jim Deacon short scale P a great deal at the moment and I'm thinking about getting another one to turn into a PJ. I can't find a lot online about them other than they were something to do with a Scottish company, but it seems there was a possibility that identical specs were made under other names as well. If anyone has any information I'd be grateful to have it so help my search for a good one. ta.
  22. Email Cioks with the Rusty Box specs and they'll tell you. They ought to be able to tell you what cable you need as well. The DC7 does have an aux output at 24VDC with enough current - but that voltage is the minimum the Rusty Box needs. Does it work better at a higher voltage?
  23. 2003 Fender USA Stratocaster. Owned since new. Bought when my eldest spawn was born. I originally had the aim of giving it to her for her 18th, and stupidly told her, but she ended up being one hell of a jazz clarinet player. I didn't want to give her the guitar for her to sell it, so I negotiated with her and ended being fleeced somewhat but I get to keep it. It is the best strat I've ever played, and I've played a lot. My longest serving bass was a Status I had owned for decades. But it had to go as I started offloading heavier basses. Now I think the one I've owned the longest is only about 3 or 4 years - my Sandberg TT4 Superlight.
