  1. What's the fan noise like? [/Stuck record]
  2. The Meatball designer is currently working with ThorpyFX and on their 'to-do' list is a new filter. Hopefully sometime next year. Thorpy's build quality is like I've never seen! Not really a surprise from a former bomb disposal tech!
  3. I've been watching demos. The slightly gainy / drivey / farty sort of warmth is lovely. Hopefully the price will stay low until after Xmas and then I shall treat myself.
  4. Compressor: Boss BC-1X Envelope Filter: Source Audio Spectrum Octave: Boss OC-5 Overdrive: Catalinbread SFT Distortion: EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Preamp / DI Box: Tech21 Paradriver Phaser: I'm still looking! Chorus: Nope. It's not 1985 anymore.
  5. For wired cans I have Beyerdynamic DT770 closed back and Senn HD599 SE open backs depending on what I need. Both good, but I do have a large noggin and the Senns are more comfortable. I use them with my Helix when recording. If I’m just noodling then I have the Boss Waza Air headphone amp thing. Amazing bit of kit. I’ve played far more since getting them. Expensive, and I was a bit nervous about buying them, but they’ve turned out to be a great buy. Boss needs to update the app though, it’s clunky.
  6. As said, Nordy will make anything you like as a custom order.
  7. I still want one. Might sell off a bass to get the funds.
  8. Yeah - I get the feeling anyone turning up to that gig with a Kemper would be found at the bottom of a river weighed down by it!
  9. I did my last gig. Funnily enough as I no longer gave a crap I think I played far better than I have for at least a year! It's not like Count Basie tunes are easy either, I usually have to concentrate quite a lot. Strange how the brain works sometimes.
  10. Could be. It sounds really stable for an analogue pedal though. I've had the MXR and I could never get it that stable, even with a compressor in front of it!
  11. I've been watching the North Sea Jazz show: He seems to be playing quite high on the bass but with very low notes. I have found some old (like 5 years old) rig videos when he's using octave pedals etc, but this tone doesn't really sound like an octave pedal. So I'm wondering if he's using something else? P basses are usually crap when tuned BEAD or even lower as the pickup placement is just not great for that purpose. Any ideas?

  13. I just did this on my Sandberg. It’s subtle, but it’s definitely a nice change.
  14. Definitely. They played 20 mins from my house last week and I couldn’t get a ticket. 😢
  15. I wonder if Alex views it as an attenuator rather than a volume for the tweeter.
  16. Well. Tomorrow is my last gig with the band. It’s a multiple ensemble show and aside from the big band I’m playing in a couple of the others as well. It’s definitely the right decision to leave as I don’t actually want to do the gig at all. But of course I’m not an @rse so I will give it my all. Hopefully find some greener pastures after a break.
  17. I would never buy the Four10 because the shape of it is too annoying for me. And it doesn't have wheels, and Alex doesn't like to fit them as it means strengthening the bottom and making it heavier. The Three10 is still a very light cab in the grand scheme of things, but more importantly, it's on wheels and it will fit through more doors and narrow corridors. It might only be a couple of kilos lower than the Four10, but it will be much much easier to live with. Even the height is better as it means less bending over to pull it on the wheels.
  18. I’ve just bought a ticket! I’ve wasted money on worse! 😂
