3.
Status were certainly aware of some issues earlier in the year so hopefully they have resolved them now
Happy to hear that!
4.
I'll let you know when they get here! I had an email on Monday, letting me know they were back in stock and I think they put them in the post yesterday.
Cool! Hopefully the new batch is up to the usual great standards again. I love these strings and it would be a shame not being able to use them anymore.
5.
Aww, don't tell me that while I'm waiting for mine to arrive!
How did it go with the Status halfwounds? I so want you to tell me the strings were all good!

7. Hi guys, For sale here a Spider 4U rack bag. Lightweight yet very sturdy. Only taken out of the house a handful of times. I have no more use for it and I need the space, so here it is. Price is £30. Collection only for this one I'm afraid. I'm north London (Finchley). Cheers, Eddie
8. Very common on Basschat. AFFECT and EFFECT. From the dictionary: Usage Note: Affect and effect have no senses in common. As a verb affect is most commonly used in the sense of "to influence" (how smoking affects health). Effect means "to bring about or execute": layoffs designed to effect savings. Thus the sentence These measures may affect savings could imply that the measures may reduce savings that have already been realized, whereas These measures may effect savings implies that the measures will cause new savings to come about.
9.
Aww, don't tell me that while I'm waiting for mine to arrive!
Hope you have better luck. Let us know!
10.
D'Addario half-rounds are good but I find them a bit sticky. I have used Status halfwounds a lot and they are less sticky as time goes on. However the sets I've had recently have had E strings that have very little tone in them compared to the other strings. D'addarios have been the same. The strings I do like are Thomastik Jazz Flats, JF344 set. Smooth as the baby's proverbial and have quite a bright tone. Cost a lot to begin with but last a long time.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you regarding the Status strings. I used to absolutely love their strings, specially the halfwounds, but the last couple of sets I bought seem a bit dead from the beginning. Even the roundwounds. Come one Status! Up your game!!!
11. Second time I do business with Rich. Awesome basschatter with a great taste for gear. Enjoy the amp Rich!
12. My idea of a 60's Jazz Bass sound is John Paul Jones and he used flats. I think he had a P-Bass with rounds though...
13. I don't know exactly what are you looking for in a compressor, but the best ones I tried are the MXR M87 and the Aguilar TLC. None of them are very expensive, both are easy to power and compact and don't affect the natural sound of your bass. Can't go wrong with them in my experience.
14. Ed bought my Badass II bridge. Easy and quick communication and payment. Great guy to deal with. Thanks Ed!
15. Got one of John's wiring looms for my P-Bass. Quick and helpful communication from day one. John advised me on what I was looking for and the kit arrived the day after I ordered it. Following the diagram that comes with the kit and John's instructions over messages I managed to instal the kit myself with no soldering involved. Couldn't be more pleased. Thanks John!
16. For sale here is my Leo Quan Badass II bridge. It was on my Precision, but I'm going full old school now with flatwounds and everything and this is now surplus. The condition is mint and it comes with the screws and the allen key that came with the bridge originally. These are getting hard to find so grab yourself this great piece of gear while you can. Price is £55 posted anywhere in the UK. Cheers, Eddie

18. Hey guys! I need to sell one of my amps to raise some funds. Since I've been using my Spyder 550 the most at the moment my beautiful UK made Ashdown ABM500 EVOIII has to go. I think most people know what these amps are like. Full bodied bass tone with lots of features and versatility. Great amps as used by Pino Paladino and MANY others. About the whole Ashdown woolliness debate. In my experience Ashdown amps are not wooly or muddy at all, but some of their cabinets might be, hence the perception some people might have. Norman Watt-Roy uses ABMs and I personally saw JJ Burnel using one and there's nothing wooly about none of these guys tone. These are great amps with real balls that won't break your back or your piggy bank. Price is £350 and it comes with a brand new JJ 12AX7 valve (original one included), original Ashdown footswitch to engage the valve drive, sub-harmonics, eq and mute functions and a Roqsolid cover. In perfect condition apart form a couple of very minor nicks on the tolex. Check the link to hear it in action. Cheers, Eddie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgegu2AZakk
