1. Hi guys! Selling here my EBS BassIQ envelope filter. Yet another time I buy an envelope filter and end up not using it. Use it in sound checks, band mates love it, comes gig time... Nowhere to use it. Lame! Very funky pedal. I got on with it much better than with the 3 Leaf Audio Proton I had before. It's the true bypass version and it's in very, very good condition. There's a tiny scratch next to the EBS 'E' and just this morning, when I took it out of the pedal board, a little bit of that rubery mat from under the pedal came off (see pictures). Other than these minor cosmetic thingies the pedal is perfect. Here's a cool demo: Price is £90 posted in the UK, or £85 collected from SW9. Cheers, Eddie
 2.
This is the stuff... At the risk of hijacking the entire thread and turning it into some sort of PowerPop appreciation site (oh, what a beautiful dream....), I've got a bunch of Andy Sturmer demos I'm happy to share...
No problem turning this into a power pop appreciation site, hehehe! Ah... These Andy Sturmer demos sound like something I would like!
 3. Happy to see I'm not alone! Spilt Milk is an incredible album and I'm also a big Jellyfish fan. It's funny how a lot of the time I mentioned both bands to people and a lot of them know Jellyfish, but not Imperial Drag. I have both Roger Manning's solo albums if anybody wants. Both are wicked!!!
 4.
Shoot me your address by PM...Ive got a 1996 Hollywood show plus about 50 demos. Also, if your collection has any Jellyfish gaps, I got a ton of other stuff. Umajets. Hollyfaith. You really need to check out Sugarbomb as well. P
Hey! Thanks for that! I'll pm my email.
 5.
so nothing to do with cross-dressing in the Bristish Empire, then?
Hahaha! Well... If you check their videos on youtube you'll see quite a lot of cross-dressing. No connections with the Empire though, as far as I know...
 6. You guys ever heard of this band, Imperial Drag? One of my all time favourite bands and really unknown. Eric Dover (guitars and vocals) and Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (keys and vocals) put the band together after Jellyfish called it a day in 96. Dover was recording and touring with Slash's Snakepit at the same time Imperial Drag was recording too, which obviously didn't make it easy for them to tour and promote their own album. Unfortunately they only ever released that one album and split not long after that. Joseph Karnes was the (awesome) bass player and, as with the rest of the band, completely underrated. Here's one my favourite tracks. Enjoy!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpQdHcna2ok
 7. Try the Orange OBC115. One the best cabinets out there and very affordable second hand. It will definitely sound great with your AD200.
 8. There are good and bad 4x10's, like any other design. One of my favourite cabinets it's the Ampeg B-410 HLF. Fills the room like very few others, less coloured than both the SVT-410 and the Ashdown ABM 410 that I owned at some point. The only reason I don't have one is the weight and form factor. Nothing wrong with a good 4x10 in my view.
 9.
When it does it'll need new strings.
Nah... Jamerson used to say that the funk is in the gunk. Hehehe!
 10.
The more I look at this demo of the JHS Low drive, the more I wanna try one!.... it's got something sexy going on!.... I'm getting a boner!
Sounds amazing!
 11.
I'm using an Ashdown James LoMenzo Hyperdrive at the mo and am liking it a lot. It's very versatile will go from bluesy grit to full on meltdown but it is (like all Ashdown pedals) a bit on the large side. Only around £50 though.
Beat me to it.
 12. It's not small, but it's dead quiet and the best bass overdrive/distortion pedal I owned by a mile and I owned quite a few. If I had more space on my pedal board I would have two of them. One for subtle OD and another one for that Entwistle grind. I couldn't live without it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFfqWnybHEM
 13.
We're talking about loony collectors here. The type that think guitars and amps should be stored in bank vaults not played.
Well... I would play it if I found it. Regardless if it is or not Jamerson's amp. If it sounded good, that is.
I thought that! In any case, so what if it is genuine? It's just a box. Jamerson's real legacy is the recordings he made.
I agree that his legacy (or that of any musician) is their music, but I believe if somehow it could be proved that this was an amp he used it is a cool find. Like any other historical, or archeological find.
 14.
Did he have any? I thought Motown had amps in the room already ...
At the end Dennis Coffey says something about that and seems to believe that this amp might have been the one Jamerson used when Motown moved to LA.
 15. Check this out guys! Is it possible that this is really one of James Jamerson's B15's? http://video.pbs.org/video/2256479348
 16. Glad you liked guys. Work in progress so stay tuned.
 17. Great player and a slap in the face of the pick haters out there...
 18. Hey guys! This a video my friend's girlfriend made of us recording live at Resident Studios in Willesden Green. The band is called The Alves Project. Execution is a bit shaky 'cause it was a song we had just worked on for the first time. Still ok, I guess. On the day I was using my Ashdown Spyder 550 through my Barefaced S12. The sound you hear is a mix of the miked up cab + clean di from the amp straight into the daw + a little bit of drive from my Tech21 VT Bass. Hope you like. 19. Go for it man. The first couple of months are going to be difficult, but you're gonna be surprised how stuff is gonna start to come your way once you're concentrating on playing full time. If you don't like it, or find it too hard you can always go and find another job one day. You'll never know if you don't try. Good luck!
 20.
John Deacon would be a good example too. You can really tell when he used a 'Ray on stuff like 'Another one bites the dust'. For me, the Stingray sound is like a Jazz bridge pup sound with guts. Almost like the solution to wanting a Jaco sound that will sit well in a band mix.
+1 to that.
 21. Cool. Are they gonna make a version for men as well?
 22.
I've been thinking this too - absolutely love my spyder combo. Been through no end of amps in the last few years, but this is really something special. The EQ makes it a one-trick pony, but it sounds and feels fantastic.
Have you tried tweaking with the the mid, bass and bright switches? They definitely add a lot in terms of different sounds. How do use these switches in your combo? I always keep mine up as I love the vintage sound that the Spyder produces like that, but I found that if you flick the switches down the amp sounds more modern. Curious to hear from other user how they use that feature...
Isn't a 550 Spyder also known as the Little Bastard? Someone has a James Dean fixation at Ashdown.
Mark is a big sports car fan!
 23. Man... Why do I have to be able to afford holidays for me and my wife?
 24.
Looking at a mibass220, it has two 8ohm speaker outs, would it be okay to connect a single 4ohm cab? How would that affect the power output, cab in question is ashdown lb212. Thanks
You would be getting the full power out of your amp that way, which is great. As long as you don't mix the 4 ohm LB212 with other cabs you'll be fine.
