Run left and right main outputs to the sub inputs Set the low pass frequency on the subs to suit (page 7 of the earlier linked instructions) Use the unfiltered (aka full range) link output from the sub to give you the input for the tops. (page 2 and 6 in the instructions) Then as you said, wind back the low frequency response of the tops and you're good to go.

If you are looking for 'rock' clothes...and your budget will stretch then I recommend Wornstar in the US. You can get their kit in the UK, but none of the one-off gear they do, and its bloody expensive too. I've had a denim jacket modified by Tina (Custom Creations by Tina)...see the link below...she is ace. She aged it, fitted the patches I sourced, replaced panels with leather and camo material...proper rock idiot stuff! https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=custom%20creations%20by%20tina There are loads of places online that will do custom stagewear. It all depends on budget and timeframe.

Try Mesa Boogie perhaps? They have online support that you can call or email.

My old Korg DT10 works better for open strings down to A# than my newer Pitchblack. For that, I use the 12th fret harmonics.

Marshall VBA400 in the sale section. Worth a look I think.

Isolation pad / vibration dampener for valve amp
amnesia replied to Basszilla's topic in Accessories and Misc
My VBA lives in a flight case sleeve all the time, so it has some anti-vibration protection provided by the internal foam. Between the flightcase and cabinet I have a sheet of dense pedalboard type foam - mainly to stop the metal frame of my flightcase trashing the cabinet, but it gives me another layer of vibration reduction. Nothing posh, but it seems to do the job. -
All of my gear is immaculate, despite heavy gigging. I just look after it, it's not difficult.
The only problem with that is: energetic picking + swamp ash body = pick scrapes galore. Its only a Dingwall though... I don't neglect my equipment, but during the energy of a gig things do happen. Dings in finishes make me very sad, but I have come to terms with the pick scrapes and buckle rash (from shirt / jeans buttons!!) on my ABZ as a hazard of soft finishes.

This is not a mistake by the 'buyer'. He has tried to sell this instrument through my friends shop - and the other two music shops in the city aswell. My friend has spoken directly to the instruments owner. Mr Barlow has form.
One of these days one of these threads which sound incredibly useful from the title surely has to be applicable to originals bands. Alas, my wait continues...
Gig, gig and keep gigging. Play anywhere and everywhere until if you are good enough - people you don't know will come to the shows. No shortcuts - just hard work followed by more hard work.

My band is made of people that are not known on the local covers circuit so we couldn't just walk into / phone / email a venue and say "Hey, you know me from X band. This is my new band...give us a gig please". We don't have any recordings of what we do, although there is obviously uncontrolled phone footage floating around Facebook. We've got our gigs by doing this:

We started the lazy way, by messaging promoters / venue managers and venue pages directly via facebook. We got a bit of interest from that, but it wasn't intended to be our primary venue contact method;
Going to see other bands. Be seen by the 'established' bands as being a part of the 'scene'. We've been recommended to several venues by other bands now;
Go into venues - we've chosen to do this on weekday evenings - with a presspack in hand and a bit of sales speak. Nothing special - just a bit of blurb about what we offer and our current set list.
Question about rigs for Outdoor Gigs.....
amnesia replied to Salt on your Bass?'s topic in Amps and Cabs
Played outside on Sunday. Back of a hard-side trailer job with vocal monitors only. Both the guitarist and myself turned up much louder than we have just to be heard on stage. I didn't bother to mess with the EQ as it was plug in and go - not even a line check because it was running late. On stage was all bass rumble but I'm told the FOH was fine. -
Thanks for your comments. Still couldn't really sell the idea of moving away from analogue, but never mind. I'm pretty happy with the solution we've chosen.
-
How are these units for on-the-fly edits during a gig? Are they less immediate than a traditional analogue desk? The rest of the band seem wary of taking the jump from an analogue desk which has all the functionality immediately available. However when you want 4 aux outs as we do, choice becomes more limited in the analogue market it seems.

Clarky bought my Gibson T-bird at the weekend. Paid up front - trusting me not to emigrate or ship him a box of bricks. Good communication and a pleasure to do business with. FYI...I didn't ship him a box of bricks...
I've an old Superbass 100 and it's great through a modern cab
Its a combination that works really well for me too - valves plus modern cabs.
Three simple letters, VBA
Indeed. The Very Big Amp. I love mine...even if it is in for repair. Again. I can imagine the conversation that sparked this design happening after a few too many drinks at the Christmas bash one year. "I've had this really good idea..."

I like Bass Direct - all my specialist bass kit comes from there now. Living about 80 miles away a couple of us turn it into a bit of a road trip. Drive down on a Saturday morning, pop next door for coffee and bacon...then its bass porn for the next couple of hours. Mark has strong opinions, which differ from mine in a lot of respects but that's cool. We've had a lot of conversations in which I have learn't quite a bit and although he is busy, he's always made time to at least say hello. It's all Mark's fault I play mainly Dingwall now. I've spent a long time in that shop and spent a lot of money. In three years I've bought an amp, a cabinet, two pedals, three cases, two Dingwalls and a bucketload of strings from there. I'm due another run down actually...
