1. Soft BBC presenter bint - "Sorry about this...Lemmy's smoking in this interview...we don't condone that" Shut up. Just shut up. Stop trying to protect me from the evils of the world and apologising to appease the outraged liberals. As for the band - sound seemed to change dramatically in the middle of 'Rock It' - all of a sudden the bottom end appeared, like the someone realised that the high pass filter was on. Not my thing really, and I'm pretty sure they were viewed as nothing more than a mild curiosity. To top it all off - Virgin got the times wrong so our recording stopped at 32 minutes. Really grating sound though, so I'm not too bothered I didn't get the whole set.

 4. Guess what I am waiting for???
 5. Foals. Almost every band name that begins with 'The'...The Killers, The Music et al Almost every band name with 4 words in it - Bring Me The Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Bullet For My Valentine. I think the last two are more to do with the way they sound if I'm honest.
 6. Even though it doesn't need to sell to pay for the incoming toy...I'd better bump this! ...BUMP...

 8.
Just because you can
I have read the whole thread, and this line sums up my thoughts completely.
 9.
Maybe you do get compliments but just can't remember!
10. I don't get many compliments following gigs...but nobody normally speaks to me after gigs anyway! I appear to be Mr Unapproachable. I have had compliments from time to time, and like others my normal response is "Thanks, glad you enjoyed our set". I only get embarrassed about it if I don't think I've played very well.
 11.
This is a good price for a Thunderbird - have a bump on me I have a number of basses and this one is still my favourite. It excels when playing with a pick and has a very clear tone sound up the top end of the fretboard unlike my Fender, Squier and Yamaha which all sound twangy. It is also my lightest bass and easy on my back. In fact I am tempted to buy as a back up!
I really like the T'bird - if for no other reason that its obvious connection to Nikki Sixx. I'll certainly loose no sleep over it not selling!
 12.
If you have amnesia, how do you know you are you
Damn. I never thought of that. If I'm not me who am I? Is it possible...could it be that I am...Rick?
 13.
Amnesia - you like reading, boobies and motorbikes, appear not to have much time for religion, and come from Stoke. Are you sure you're not me? This is very confusing...
Don't think so. Let me go and check. Nope, still me.
 14.
It's a fair question. I bought it more than 20 years ago the same way people buy basses on this forum. There always isn't an opportunity to try an instrument before purchase. I recommend anyone thinking of buying one to try one.
20 years ago? You bought it 20 years ago and you're still bent out of shape about it? Good grief. Get a grip man. There are more important things. Like chocolate and vodka. And boobies. Drop into the introducing forum and tell us something more about what you play (if you still do). Get involved with the other topics...be a more useful memeber of the community. Hell - just do what I do and mooch about without posting - sucking up all the useful info.
 15.
No. It doesn't detect current flowing 'back through earth'. It detects an imbalance between what is going out and what is coming back. If there is a difference then it's going somewhere it shouldn't be. The flat bed will be wood so it'll be insulated. The only danger is the metal work of the truck that could in very rare circumstances become live. It can't act as an earth. Potentially everyone on the truck could become live but that's not a problem until they touch something outside the truck when they get down. It's such an unlikely event. Maybe the musicians will get on the truck then off again at the end of the performance. There are three amps. How long are they playing for? How long would it take to apply and check equipotential bonding to all the exposed metal work? Is this even required by the regs? Not unless it's practical.
I said about the imbalance measurement earlier. No body read it. I might have cried.
 16.
What will the RCD measure against ?
The flatbed chassis / generator 'earth'
 17.
Ah for which case we have this for sale
Nice sales pitch!
 18.
A canal boat has a correctly fitted and referenced RCD circuit by a qualified electrician, - You can do all your own wiring on a boat. There are rules but nowhere near as controlled as a normal domestic property. Somehow I think the Generater will be just lifted on the lorry ten minutes before to stop it getting nicked and a four way slung out. Comapring this to a correctly fitted system and saying it will be fine, never really works out in the real world, what you going to do if the Genny is not bonded to the lorry and tested by an electrician and signed off with a certificate. Hope for the best is the answer .
A slight off-topic distraction - You can do all your own wiring on a boat. There are rules but nowhere near as controlled as a normal domestic property. I'm not suggesting just a plug and play approach - obviously it needs to be checked by someone who knows what they are doing, but who do you get to do it? A domestic sparky? An autoelectrician? I'd have no problem running a generator on a flatbed, but my background would give me the confidence to know it was safe (or not).
 19. Wireless also means that should an amp develop a fault - the indication of that fault is that it goes quiet - but the amp stays energised with its case possibly live. What the first thing you do? Go and have a fiddle with the knobs. Cue curly hair.
