1. I normally try and follow the drummer ! Good luck with your search.
2. I had one of these before getting a ha500. Theyre very good and seems like a bargain; lots of bang for your buck !
3. Max weinberg and Gary Tallent
4. Why was it deleted ?
5.
Ahhh yes We didn't worry so much about radiation poisoning in the sevnties....................
No and my kids find the extra eye and tentacles come in quite handy
6. Thats about all though. Great bass player but a sad ending
7.
If only I still had my old IC100S head, that would've sounded perfect.
And if i still had my old vs bass head Id snap this up. Ah the comforting green glow....
8.
A Markbass Bash is a good idea, but I'm too far away from everyone to join in the fun.
You'd probably here it from there but only with VPF off and a little mid boost obviously
9. I feel a Markbass settings forum coming on... or maybe a Markbass bash ?
10. I also set the gain to about two/three oclock. Based on the manual advice to turn the master to 0 and set he gain until blue light shows clipping and back off a little. Turn master volume to required level.
11. This is all really interesting. I agree about the ideal live mix sound and solo often being very different; scooped mids a good example. I find the low mid boost really helpful when di'id through the pa and Im stuck behind the sub woofer.
12. Whenever I try using the filters i usually end up zeroing them and setting all the tone controls back at twelve oclock, sometimes boosting the mid low to cut through the mix, depending on the room and adding a bit of low with my jazz bass.
13.
Reminds me of a cheapo bass my mate had back in the 70s (cant remember the make) except that it had 2 pickups. These look way better and are no doubt way better made too.
Was it a jedson ? I had a cream coloured one as my first bass and loved it.
14. I went from a hartke 500 amp, 1x15 and 4x10 ashdown cabs to a markbass cmd210 6 years ago and have never looked back. I occasionally think about adding another 210 cab but dont really need it.
15.
I use the srm 150 - excellent piece of kit, sits on a mic stand, loud as my old powered wedge - very impressed - also seems very feedback resistant
We use them in our band. All of above; I really like them.
16.
They seem really nice necks, have you got a picture of yours?
Sorry i missed this reply will try and post some tomorrow
17. Just to add to the confusion i thought that highway 1 basses were mexican parts assembled in America. Probably by Mexicans !
18. You can buy non fender ball ended Allen keys. Have a look online. I bought some from a local tool store mckays in Cambridge.
19. I have a modded sx p bass which I'm really pleased with. This is a real bargain at 50 squid someone buy it !
20.
Perhaps make the jump to a US standard. I had a Squier CV Jazz for a while, and while they're great basses for the money, it certainly didn't match up to my US Jazz in tone and feel (although the finish was almost on par). Even the mexican built Road Worn series gets a lot of love Si
I'd second this commotion get a Us jazz
21. I have markbass cmd102p which I'm really pleased with. Keep think that I should add an extension cab but as I also go through the pa It probably isn't a requirement.
22. Ive just fitted a sh mighty mite neck with a vintage finishh from Nick on here to my sx sunburst p. Looks very 62ish and I'm really pleased with it
23. My amp is a markbass combo but I use our rehearsal studio's BA115 when rehearsing. I really like the tone with my Jazz or p basses. I play in a covers band and we're not particularly loud, I normally have it running at about half on gain and master volume. I dont know if it'd be loud enough for gigging in a rock band without proper pa support but I like it.
24. Try this: http://youtu.be/HvlI43J72Xc
25. I can't remember when the pub fag ban came into effect but I have some leads in the bottom of my case that still stink of smoke from when I played g**tar in a blues band at pub gigs.
