1. The relevant technical term is 'oops' All that amp needs is the right value pot fitted and it should be fine. It has got a 100K pot fitted instead of the 10K one that we took out, but that was all we had to hand - so it was either that or nothing! Missing plastic sliders from the EQ are a doddle to slide back on (it'll take longer to open the envelope than it will to fit them!) and I'm sure Korg (UK) will have them as a spare part. The compressor knob is loose because those amps use a split shaft pot and it's got bent - you could either take a gamble and try shoving a screwdriver into the gap and reopening the shaft or put a little blob of evostick in the knob to stop it from falling off. All in all they're a great little amp and this one just needs a few minor things done to it to get it back into fully working condition.
2. Well if I couldn't get an appropriate part through the usual suppliers (RS Components, Farnell etc.) then my next port of call would be the manufacturers. Roland (UK) Ltd Atlantic Close Swansea SA7 9FJ Tel: 01792 702701
3. If you are going to use piezo horns then you don't need resistors or capacitors. If you're using non piezo horns then you'll need a crossover - a little more sophisticated than just adding a resistor or capacitor.
4. If you have feedback problems with your 8x10 then adding a horn to it isn't going to help very much. Piezo horns don't require resistors or capacitors but you do need to keep an eye on power ratings if you don't want your amp to fry it.
5.
N you try n tell the young people of today that ........... and they won't believe you.
Aye, it's all poncey 'tortilla chips' these days wi' the yowuns...
6.
There were 'undred 'n fifty on us living in shoe-box int middle o' road.
You 'ad a shoebox? You posh b*st*rds - we had now't but a crisp packet...
7. Sounds like a big thumbs down to me... (Sorry, but I've been dying to say that all afternoon )
8. Add me to the list of +1's as well. The medical profession don't just pluck things like 'keep it elevated for a week' out of thin air to entertain themselves. Think what you're risking - a second round of surgery (never nice) and a 50/50 gamble that they can actually replace the joint a second time. Hertfordshire is a big county - if the gig is that important to your old band then they'll find a dep in time. The first question you should be asking is does anyone on here live in Hertfordshire?
9.
Folks - all references to hurting cats have been removed after multiple reports have been submitted to the mods. Seems there are lots of animal lovers on Basschat... so lets please keep the animal cruelty out of it.
Interesting. So it's ok to advocate the use of old bass strings to garotte guitarists... Speaking as someone who has had 29 cats in the past and still has 19 of them, if I can take the 'cat comments' in good jest I don't see why others can't.
10. I have a shoe box full in my shed that I use as picture wire...
11. Unless you do some rather pointless surgery your 'strong feeling' is absolutely spot on.

Weight!!

I have (amongst a few others ) an ESP 6 string that weighs just under 15lbs (about 7kg). It's saving grace... it has near perfect balance and allows me to travel the entire length of the neck without shifting it's position.
13.
+1 A bottle of water at a motorway service station, thus making water more expensive than petrol: http://www.telegraph...-for-water.html
I point blank refuse to buy bottled water - it's an ecologically unsound waste of money that has been artificially elevated to a 'must have' accessory with a massively inflated price.
14. Only if the amp developed a major defect. I personally think it's a bit of an urban myth put about by PA engineers - I've been DI'ing my gear and other peoples for well over 30 years and have never had a problem. If you were to buy a DI box then most PA guys running big rigs would want you to use their DI boxes anyway.
15. About 4 penny chews...
16. The EB180 has a DI Out on the front panel already - why not use that?
17. Well that seems pretty good as a first outing. Sounds to me that it was the logistics that let you down and the musical content was fine. Well done
18.
E............. (1 hour later) ......... F..........(1 hour later)........F#......... Damn wrong note!
Slow down! You're bound to make mistakes if you play that fast
19.
It's my first gig in 3 years tonight and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!
Well unless you can play a 7 hour bass solo you're gonna have to! Good luck mate - knock 'em dead.

fender tuners

The mounting holes won't line up so you'll need to do a fill and drill job and I suspect the gearing will work backwards.
21. I bought one about a year ago and use it every time, regardless of floor type. I was rather dubious about the concept when I first looked at them but have become a willing convert - they are absolutely fab on wooden stages. It's not perfect but it's certainly taken a big slice of struggle out of getting rid of the inherant boom you get with wooden stages.
22.
Ha ha....I'm ok in there.... Iron Python are local heroes..... And a couple of them are the regulars!
Damn. Iron Python don't sound like the sort of band that would play a tango so thats blown that image out of my head...
23.
Actually, you could say what you like to them...they're all deaf as posts...
Good job too as I told them what you called them...
24. To echo MonckyMan, don't start disconnecting the earth cables in the mains plugs. I'd be more inclined to try linking the two units together at their grounding points as a starting off point if you believe you have an earth hum. Also make sure that both units are powered from the same mains socket.
25. Well if the interferance is coming from the audience then it's not practical to ask them all to switch to plane mode (assuming they are all using iphones which they wont be). Buy a handful of ferrite beads and see if you can suppress the noise at the equipment end.
