1. Great amps, these. Sound particularly good with the CL cabs... Bump
2. They vary in price by loads. I was looking at getting one last year; I decide one wasn't worth £25 and didn't buy, the next one I saw was just shy of £100!
3.
Some excellent boards being posted, as per usual I've been waiting on a Subterranea for a few months now. I'm getting tempted by the You're Doom fuzz while I wait though!
Has he still not caught up? I don't miss mine too much if I am honest, I think it may have been rushed out a little in the end. What I think he should bring out is a large box Xerograph deluxe with the Subterrenea built in
4.
I could really do with some help! I'm just about to put a pedalboard together. I'll be running an Aguilar TLC compressor, and a fuzz - probably a W & C tall font russian, or a musket or something like that. I also want to include an overdrive on the board - I'm considering both pedals in the title and the darkglass vmt too. I love the vintage-y sound of the vintage microtubes, but I've heard from a number of people that it just doesn't work either side of a fuzz. The b7k is awesome, but the EQ would only be adjusting the distorted tone - whereas the b3k with another preamp (probs tone hammer) wouldn't be the case. SO, what do I do? Does anybody have any experience of these pedals? Or any of the ODs alongside a fuzz? Any help much appreciated, thank youuu
Apologies if I am misreading what you say, but the B7K affects both the clean and distorted tone and having an EQ pedal after a B3k will be basically the same

Lovely lovely. Could be coming to back to this if my Streamer sells! Do pm me if trades interest you at all!

A 98 is quite late, so it could be original. The Fortress was a more budget model after all, so they may well have trailed them on these later fortress basses before bringing them in a across the range.
7.
They are and I've never quite got why they did that, as it is minimal and can't make much if any difference!
Quit moaning about it and just sell it to me

Warwick can always be question marks sometimes, but I did think all stock Fortress basses had the brass nut, what year is it? If it is mid nineties it will certainly not be original, as the tedur nut didn't exist then having said that, I cannot think why you would change to that nut, unless it was during the refinish?
11. You're all wrong. It's six big muffs, half an apple and a funky stick, played through an old boot.
12.
The short one is just about the right size for me. But, I may be alone here, I found the back of the strap too slippery and it made neck dive worse. So I sent it back.
That is really quite uprising, I cannot imagine how it could be slippery at all! Was it faulty?
13. They did what to the frets?!
14. Great sound, these basses. Pickups and Preamp really work well together.
15. I use a Mono, love it. Looks cool and feels nice to wear.
16. Here is the pic, should hopefully be able to see the glossy look I am talking about: As opposed to this pic of my old Thumb bass, with no sheen (board was lemon oiled whilst I owned it) Again, it may be just my overexposure to old Warwicks and the fretboard will dull over time, but if it is polished in some way to keep it glossy I would like to keep it that way
17. Oh, and cheers TheGreek for the blind recommendation !
18. Well the Aurora bass strings have arrived today. They were posted last monday, so I am happy with that from the US. No customs charges either, which is always a bonus. First impressions are really good. Notable nicer feel than the DR's, which felt awfully rough doing slides, and they have lovely tension. Tonally similar, the Auroras however do sound a little brighter and importantly the G string is not dead (an issue I have experienced with DR). I believe that Aurora used to supply DR with the coating but they have since parted company. I think DR brought out there own coating and branded it Extra Life, around the same time they brought out the Neon strings. Happy that they are an improvement over the DR's, be it only first impression at the moment. We shall see! Oh, and the best bit? They were buy one get one free on a black friday deal! So two sets of black coated strings for a landed cost of £26. I believe Black Beauties are about £36 a set in the UK. Result!
19. Lovely looking bass with regards to rarity, the earlier basses are always sought after, but the current production Thumb BO basses have Bubinga bodies and Wenge necks However, for 10 years or so they were built with Ovangkol with Ovangkol necks, believe it changed to Bubinga in 2010 (?) and wenge this year.
20. Will the shop not take it back? Best bet for you if it is only a few weeks old?
21. Electronic cigarettes?
22.
love how mike matthews surrounds himself with south american women, not a man in sight!!!
Did anyone find that rather creepy? Enjoying the film though, nothing better to do on a Sunday evening.
23. Sunday evening bump
24. Still here Welcoming cash or trade offers, worst I can do is say no!
25. I use Titebond hide glue, holds solid but still easy to remove if needed
