1. Since the original hardcase was stolen, what hardcase does this come with? Comparable to the original flightcase? Do any tools remain? And how is the neck profile on this?
2. I'll check the diary but I may be able to make this one. If so, I'll probably bring my Warwick Dolphin, Micromark 801 and a couple of effects.
3. Agreed with all of the above, I should have mentioned the main intention is to use this with a You're Doom pedal, rather than a muff type fuzz or similar, so I would be running into the filter. The WMD does certainly look interesting, but concerned it may have the same effect on me that the Wonderlove did, just too much going on. Same with the Prometheus.
4. It does sound good, but using my Cog Knightfall circuit after the B7K can get tones like the vintage if I needed them. Couldn't justify owning both so the B7K is an easy choice for me. Great playing as always, sir. Your You're Doom demo has got me wanting to order a few pedals from 3Leaf
5. I'm in the market for a new envelope filter pedal. Now, historically, I am extremely fussy when it comes to filters, so fussy that none of my past conquests have completely satisfied me for one reason or another. What is deemed to be a really good, wet, quaky filter at the moment that works well with fuzz pedals for synth tones? Two of the major contenders of the moment, Xerograph Dlx and Wonderlove, did not tick enough boxes for me to justify the investment. Xerograph sounded too sterile for me, despite it working great with other pedals, and the Wonderlove was just too difficult to dial in a good tone that worked on it's own and with others. Possible interests are: 3Lead Proton Subdecay Prometheus DLX MXR Bass Envelope Filter WMD Super Fatman Xotic Robotalk 2 Any thoughts/recommendations? I will primarily be using an active Warwick and its quite important for me to have the option to have some clean bass coming through. Working well with fuzz pedals for synth tones is also a must.
6. I am LOVING my new little box for quiet practice, will be more than adequate for band practice (albeit with no or a very quiet drummer) as it kicks out a surprising amount of volume! 7. That looks lovely, however I wish they would have stuck with rosewood/bubinga fretboard, maple doesn't really suit it as well it I don't think!
8. ooo lovely Walnut body and wenge neck, would really love one of these first edition BO Thumbs
9. Well it turned up today, and my first impression was this :| Fortunatley, despite Parcelforce/DHL Germany's best efforts (and some questionable judgement of a suitable box size by Thomann), the amp and it's internal box are untouched. ...and I'm really, really impressed! The little thing has such a superb full sound! The VPF is the only knob I use on MB amps so don't really miss the EQ or VLE at all. Really lovely sound and has a good bit of volume too! Sounds great with my Warwick and Rickenbacker with little EQ adjustment needed. Headphone amp is, quite possibly, the best I have used on an amp/combo, really good clear high quality tone. Not tested the DI yet, but don't anticipate issues. No tweeter, so no horrible hiss! Happy with my decision to go for it and got it for a great price, compared to the few UK stockists. Happy to return to the MB tone
10. A Beaut of a bass! Me and Col have done many a deal and can thoroughly recommend dealing with him, chap is responsible all of the basses I own! (albeit only 2;)). Rare buggers, these, and there were not many Warwick basses at all with even just Wenge necks in the 00's, let alone all these lovely woods!
11. Good man
12. Nice one, guys. Chrome is king
13. With the noisy 121p returned and still uncertainty on whether or not it was faulty, I have opted to stay away from MB tweeters and have ordered a Micromark, realistically all I need for home and studio
14. Congrats Certainly sounds like mine had a problem then, as the hiss coming from mine was far too loud to not notice it had a tweeter!
15. Hmm, what you are describing doesn't sound like a forum error and rather a PC error, although I hear what you are saying. What browser and version are you using?
16. It won't be going any lower, folks, I'd sooner touch the paint job up myself and sell it for £800 cash as it is, I'm agreeable to a cash sale of £650. The monster head in this combo alone is worth 4 figures...
17. Wow. He makes a point of it having a narrow neck. Reckon he built it as a four, realised the neck was too wide so magiced it into a 5?
18. I'm almost as surprised that this hasn't gone as I am that my Sixpak hasn't gone! Market truly is dead!

20. I can ask the same question about Aguilar, Markbass and a handful of other manufacturers Endless search for tone, GAS and boredom. If a popular amp exists that doesn't flood classifieds and eBay with second hand models, that would be remarkable
21. Congrats on the new bass! Really not sold on the looks, however the sound and playability is superb, best of Musicman for sure
22.
there were some reports of people replacing the tweeter with another that was something like £15, which allegedly worked well and no hiss... but I have not tried that
Certainly could be a workable solution to the problem, but as I say it wouldn't be a solution for me as I don't like to modify a brand new amp. Amongst other things I am sure the warranty will be thrown out the window...
23. It was a brief affair, but I am afraid I am returning the amp to the shop today. From all I have read, the tweeter sound I am experiencing is normal and expected of these amplifiers, which regretfully makes the amp completely unsuitable for me. Primarily was to be used as a home practice amp and a studio recording amp, and with the hiss of that non-adjustable tweeter it would be no good for either of these uses. Would be no problem at all if it was to be used as a gigging amp. I know the issue could easily be helped by sticking a bit of foam or felt over the tweeter to block out the white noise, however whilst I may be happy to do this with a second hand amplifier, I don't feel like I should have to do this with an Amp I have just bought brand new. If it's not perfect for me, it needs to go back. I have requested that the shop look into the return as a fault as well as being not fit for purpose, as I really don't think a tweeter should be that loud. Perhaps at 25 my hearing is still better than others and it's just more audible to me, who knows. Otherwise, the amp sounded good and I am sure it performs well for 99% of the bassists out there Lesson learned: listen harder when trying amplifiers out before you buy. (needless to say I did not try this exact amp before buying it, perils of online purchasing..) Anyway, apologies for the thread hijack!
