1. Nice little trio! If I hadn't just agreed to give you all my spare cash I might have been interested in the Comp GLWTS
2.
probably over two years ago
Huh? It was on earlier this year
3. When this was at bass direct I looked at this at least once a day, I would love it
4. Bump. Keen on a cash sale now. A very similar all Ovangkol thumb Bass Direct is offered at Bass Direct for £1,300 at the moment... http://www.bassdirec..._Thumb_BO5.html Could well be taking it there to sell for that much if it doesn't go on here soon!
5.
I get it now. I'm not convinced. Having the strap part of the lock not actually attached to the strap gives me two more (very important) things I could lose. Also in the case of the failure I had, this method might well have resulted in disaster. Because what happened was that the locking mechanism wouldn't engage fully, the strap lock worked reasonably well when the bass was being worn but when I put it on the stand the two parts disengaged. Obviously with the strap being attached to the lock mechanism I noticed straight away that it had become detached and was aware that I could swing my bass about during the gig with the amount of enthusiasm I might normally employ. If the strap was just fitted to the button and I was relying on the lock part to hold it securely in place, the lock would probably have dropped off with the bass on the stand and with the strap still fitted to the button I might not have noticed and then been more energetic in my performance than was safe. Anyway I've switched to Schallers now. As I said before they've worked well for me for 30 or so years without incident, so I'm going to stick with them.
To be honest, I would never strap a bass on without thoroughly checking the strap and locks are secure, so the situation you describe wouldn't be an issue for me Schaller locks are indeed superior anyway and would always be my first choice.
6. They have form, http://www.seibass.com/seiflam5flessusd.html ; at least 3 owners since it sold from the Gallery, myself included.
7.
heres my four. :_)))))
Sell me the burl 6! Gorgeous instruments.
8.
Hi guys, Really sorry not been on in a while, loads of messages and stuff and feel like I've dropped the ball a touch. Yes it's still available and willing to ship to anywhere in the UK. Tbh, if it's London would be easier to drop it off myself for the price of the ticket (~£25) since I am in Bucks. Weight wise I don't know how much it weighs as I don't have scales, but I can certainly estimate. Held it up next to a 5kg bag of sugar (with a bit missing) and it weighs less than that, so I would guess somewhere close to 4kg. If it is important I will borrow some scales from somebody at some point. Have a good weekend all! Jamie
The old 'weigh your bass compared to sugar' trick; I now feel my bathroom scales are super accurate!
9. If this had the beak I would have had it in an instant! Even so I'm still tempted, what does she weigh?
10. Just completed a nice little trade deal with Marco, top bloke to deal with, cheers!
11. Recently did a deal with Dave, seems a good guy and he is happy with the Warwick, I'll miss her! Cheers bud.
12. This could be just what I am looking for after I shift my Thumb bass, I could well be i touch
13. Yes
14. Okay, the headstock may be a little wonky, but otherwise that looks fantastic!!
15. Yup, I love my Darkglass pedals, but the LEDs are just insane. Has anyone tried a TC Flashback Mini? Seems like a nifty little delay, is this tone print a gimmick or is actually good?
16. I often wonder, when effects builders see gigging boards with stickers covering the LEDs, why they don't either reduce the current going to LEDs to make them dimmer or just use dimmer bulbs. With exception to the whammy and the TFR, all the LEDs on my board above are stupid bright when you are above them.
17. I'v obviously made it seem more complicated than it is! Don't have a photo as I don't have a bass with W locks at the moment, but:- 1. Put strap on bass as you normally would without strap locks. 2. Then, click the strap locks into the button as your normally would if they were fitted to the strap And that is all I mean. So the strap (and the weight of the bass) is actually on the buttons and not on the lock itself.
18. Not posted one in a while
19. Little tip: when using the Warwick strap locks (or Dunlop, indeed any that click intro the strap button, rather than the Schaller type), don't fit them to your strap. Put the strap over the strap button as normal and then click the locks in place on top of the strap. That way, the bass strap is as secure as it would be if the strap lock was fitted properly, however all the pressure isn't on the strap lock and your bass will not go crashing to the ground if it does fail!
20. No problem, Nick. I'll keep you posted
21. Several offers on the table but nothing quite 'right' for meat the moment, but don't wait too long To answer a few queries that have come up:- Exact weight is 10lb 4oz according to bathroom scales I am happy to consider trades with cash my way and not just for other basses. Not interested in amplification but other gear could interest me. The neck has no dings whatsoever and the truss rod works with no issues. This is very much a Made in Germany model and currently retails over £2000 new I believe. I am happy to ship to the EU and beyond at cost.
22. It makes me sad that I can't be the next owner
