  1. A much better live album than 'Celebration Day'.
  2. Not in this house!
  3. 'No Quarter' for me - favourite Zep tune by a country mile.
  4. Best sansamp ever - I haven’t found a sound source that can’t be improved by one of these magic boxes!
  5. I’ve tried this, but find that when I play live (remember doing that?) I get excited and really dig in, so end up adjusting stuff on the fly! It’s a great way to break the back of it though.
  6. Yeah, then they left the vocal track in. Big mistake.
  7. The Rick-O-Sound uses a switching jack as secondary output, so that when a second jack is plugged in the pickups are split neck - output 1 and bridge - output 2, if there's no jack in the second output then the main mono output just gets both pups in parallel, similar to a standard Jazz bass wiring. That's the only thing about Ricks that I like.
  8. And sold in 24 minutes.
  9. Recently bought this as faulty, but jI W fully with eking after making a replacement daughterboard for the footswitch. comes with all the usual ‘case candy’ - cotton bag, instructions and original box. Based on the Mutron (optical envelope detector), so a lovely vintage filter that will do up and down sweeps.
  10. A couple of Maytags and a rotisserie.
  11. yeah - already been playing with my Faux-C2 octave. NICE!
  12. I’m the man - Anthrax
  13. Not tried this before, so I thought I’d give it a spin... ...holy f@?£, that’s a lot of fun!! It’s like a second channel for my 00Funk!!
  14. My thoughts exactly - had one and it was incredibly versatile, but just didn’t scratch my chorus itch. I’m using an EHX Small Clone and I love it. Granted, it’s nowhere near as flexible, but it just sounds right to my ears.
  15. Your TIP147 power transistors will only run to 150 degrees C anyway.
  16. That looks like it’ll be fine; operating temperature up to 240 degrees C - the solder on the boards would melt at just over 200!

    Zoom models

Hi. I'm considering a zoom unit for my pedalboard. It needs to be small, and do phaser, synths, and (ideally) a sequence/arpeggiator with a tap tempo function. Is the Zoom B1-Four any good for this, or should I look elsewhere. I've had an MS60B in the past, and the build quality and footprint are ideal, but just curious how far things have moved on since I last played one.
  18. Just had a blast through mine and love it! One of my favourite filth boxes!
  19. I've just been having a play with this website: http://www.ysw-tct.com/kisekae/kiss_jb/Kiss104.aspx?p1=JB01 I still like Pearloid!
  20. I really like a pearloid white guard against 3TS
  21. Arctic or Olympic...?
  22. Yup, you’ll be fine. Big standard strings will work on an acoustic, as the pickup is a piezo, and picks up physical vibration, instead of using ferrous metal strings to generate power (hence acoustics always have a preamp), so you’ve got more choice with regards to string material (phosphor bronze etc) with an acoustic. I had a short scale acoustic a few years ago and loved the sound of it with flats. I’d stay clear of high tensions strings though, as I was never keen on the idea of wrenching the truss rod up on an acoustic, other BCers with more experience may Pooh Pooh thus though.
  23. Yeppers. I love 3 pieces for this exact reason.
