  1. The reason I had a good look at it was because I have always liked the look of those simple short cutaway instruments like the first Gibson EBO and Melody Maker guitars. On closer inspection the body looks quite big in comparison to the neck, or is it the picture angle? That bridge arrangement though and what a strange pickup choice. Patrick Eggle also made one with a similar shape I remember.
  2. I’ve been looking at this Precision. Can’t work out is it a bitsa, an MIJ or MIM or a Highway one. It’s got an interesting history for sure however It doesn’t look like a stock ‘96 US bass to me. I thought that the serial number would be on the back of the headstock. The tuners are definitely from an MIM or cheaper US Fender. Opinions? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-1996-50th-Anniversary-Edition-in-Sunburst-Tortoiseshell/202552437180?hash=item2f2910e9bc:g:FwkAAOSwQXlcKW3x

  4. He’s been trying to flog that for over a year. Knock a grand off and it may be worth sending a best offer. I love JVs but they are not worth over 2k.
  5. I’m selling my original US made full size vintage ARP Odyssey. It’s flightcased and in excellent working and cosmetic condition having been regularly serviced over the years. It was toured professionally throughout its past and has been recently kept in a studio. The synth has a couple of extra features commissioned by the original owner. Firstly the pitch wheel is sprung so it jumps back to its central position making using it in performance much easier. There is also an extra control to adjust the amount of the pitch change. There is a knob which adjusts a delay on modulation so that you can adjust the attack on the modulation used. This can be turned on and off with the extra switch. Otherwise the synth is a typical black and gold faced early Odyssey. All keys work and the oscillators and tuning are extremely stable. There is plenty online about this version of the synth - here are some pics and I’ll try and post a video. More pics to follow. It’s heavy and delicate so pickup only and no trades. The flightcase is an old school ‘rainbow’ case with foam lining (the lining would benefit from being replaced). The synth functions as it ought to and all slider caps are present. I doubt you will find a better example of such a classic synth for this price. I’m in Lancaster UK.

  6. Agreed but the price is rather optimistic.
  7. Why? See above....It also looks like someone has used a belt to distress the finish when you go in close. The gigantic bridge cover doesn’t help either. It’s a nice finish otherwise and would have been a classy looking bass before it was customised. £399? £275 would be more realistic.
  8. Still here despite a flurry of interest.

  10. Great to trade with Jim again, this time I got a couple of very nice Markbass Traveller cabs, just what I wanted! A real gent to deal with and an excellent player too. Many thanks.
  11. Hi Steve I’m in Lancaster
  12. I have this rather nice Squier Telecaster Bass for sale. I bought it as back up whilst my US ‘72 Fender Tele bass was undergoing major surgery - this has a similar pickup layout which I like. Not sure of the model but it’s the one with the mudbucker front pickup and single coil Seymour Duncan jazz at the bridge. It’s got a 32” scale and a slab body. The neck is excellent and the bass has a nice variety of sounds from 60’s thump to mid range funk. It’s in excellent condition there are some small dings and pick marks on the scratchplate. The metal work is oxidised on some of the screws and the chrome on the pickup is tarnished. Merely cosmetic. It has been given a clean and set up to my tastes with a new set of Ernie Ball slinkies. It weighs around 9.8lbs and is a comfy bass to play. No case or cover but there is a strap. No trades sorry. UK only I’d prefer pickup but will post if necessary at the buyer’s expense. A nice playing unusual looking bass for not much money.
  13. That’s a bummer, yes that has happened to me in the past.
  14. I thought someone had bid on it as I was watching it, what happened?
  15. Barefaced Big Baby II 800 watts 8 ohms with horn - see specs below. Comes with Roqsolid cover. I got this in a trade from Karlfer a couple of months ago. It’s in superb condition with only a couple of paint touch ups around the grill. It’s been gigged by me a couple of times and sounds great however I’m looking for two smaller cabs for a more flexible rig. Cash on pickup would be preferable however I’d consider partial trades - with cash my way on either Markbass NY12, Traveller or Club series cabs or one of the smaller Barefaced cabs. I’m not interested in any other trades. Open to sensible cash offers. https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Big-Baby-2.htm https://barefacedbass.com/BassPlayerReview.pdf
  16. £450
  17. Me too
  18. I’ve sent them this message - This has been listed before it is a cheap Japanese copy from the 70s not a 60s Fender. There are many identifying features to identify a genuine Fender, pictures are easily found on the internet. Compare your bass to these and you will see that this is not the genuine article.
  19. The very squared off neck heel reminds me of a late 70s supposed Kay I once played. I wouldn’t pay more than a £100 for it - the bridge saddles looks like they have been hitched up at one side perhaps to compensate for poor alignment.
  20. How much do these weigh please?
  21. The early MIJ ones had Tele/51 P bass headstocks. The later Korean ones had a more traditional P bass shape. Bitsa? The tuners and bridge are wrong although the body looks correct with the shorter top horn. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1988-Fender-Squier-Bullet-Bass-with-EMGs/113438848473?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170920101022%26meid%3De89c2f88370f4082a2c8e4a3214fff8b%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D233040212566%26itm%3D113438848473&_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109
  22. That’s what I thought - Friday afternoon QC special.

  24. A Hayman 4040 from around 1973/4 in original blonde/natural finish. Most of you know that these basses were handmade to a very high standard in the UK by the people behind Burns and later Shergold. They are rare instruments especially with the perspex pickup and bridge covers and bridge clip included. This one has had its neck replaced with a Shergold equivalent of the same era as the original’s trussrod was broken. The ‘new’ neck is straight and frets are very good and the trussrod turns as it ought to. I have the original neck which is included in the sale. There are dings and a few lacquer cracks as the bass is at least 40 years old however nothing structural. The bass plays and sounds great. All the electrics work properly and the chrome hardware is in exceptional condition with very little corrosion. The backplate is the earlier engraved/stamped version with ‘patent applied for’ numbers on it. There is no case or bag sorry. SOLD
