  1. This is a 1982 Fender JV Squier ‘57 style Precision Bass made in Japan and one of the first produced with the large Squier logo. It’s a beautiful bass, all original and comes with original tatty case - minus the handle! The bass has all the hallmarks of the early Squiers - pencilled date on neck end near the trussrod and reverse tuners, cloth wiring and pickup with raised pole pieces under the A string. It has a few marks and dings but nothing structural, the neck is straight and it plays well with a low action. It weighs around 9lbs and is well balanced. These early Squiers are highly sought after as they are so well constructed and becoming vintage in their own right. I’d prefer pickup but can post in the uk only at buyers expense. No trades sorry thanks for looking. I think given the originality and condition the price is fair on this so please don’t expect me to accept lowball offers. I am always open to negotiate a little however if you look at JV prices here and elsewhere you will see that this is a very good price for a fantastic bass! Cheers.
  2. I’ve played this bass and it’s a beauty with a very similar vibe to a Musicman. Unfortunately one string too many for me. This is a real bargain for a UK made Status and comes from a great seller! GLWTS
  3. Lovely what’s its weight?
  4. Did this ever sell?
  5. I love it what a fantastic job well done!
  6. Yes really, it works well, I own two other Rics but older and all stock this one gets played and gigged the most. You get some clank, it’s comfortable to play however you can get the P bass on steroids tone of the Grabber too. Funnily enough I have an old Hofner 500/1 knocking, around now where did I put my hacksaw.....😉
  7. Yes as I said the refund was quick and sorted out politely. I’m glad the bass was easily sorted out.
  8. I took the whole assembly off and got a custom surround made and put a Gibson Grabber pickup on it! I’ve also got a surround with a Ric 3001 pickup in it but the Grabber gives me more variety sound wise.
  9. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273299538126 I bought this a few weeks ago and returned it. Although it is a very nice instrument neckwise the electrics didn’t work and it was filthy with ancient strings that were certainly not doing it any favours. The seller was ok and did politely accept a return but initially told me to turn it on as the actve circuit needed to ‘warm up for ten minutes’ I pointed out that the passive option didn’t work either. So if you do buy I’d ask a few questions first.
  10. Thanks for all the pms now replied! 😊

  12. Lovely bass I’ve owned two however both had been modified with newer pickups and one had a Jazz pickup at the bridge. If my JV Jazz sells I’ll be looking at this, whereabouts are you?
  13. Yes I saw that one too very nice!
  14. I’d love it but it’s too far to travel and he won’t post 😩

  17. It’s cheap and a project and still for sale 😊
  18. Afraid not work commitments means I rarely travel. Sorry.
  19. I’m in Lancaster a bit far up North for you judging by your location 😉
