That was a few years ago I think. You can get them still there’s a chap on the Shergold site who stockpiles all the old Shergold and Hayman stuff and sells bits occasionally. I bought a 6 string bass bridge off him once. I think he has great difficulty parting with anything associated with Shergold as I had a long wait for it! He’s a nice guy and a total enthusiast for this kind of thing I’m sure he’ll have his beady eye on this! Hmmm I seem to recall the 50/50 as having a shorter scale length but I maybe wrong

Here is my recently purchased Fender US Highway One bass. It’s got the Leo Quan Badass Bridge and nitro finish. It’s nice and light at 9lbs. Very good functional condition with only a couple of dings and some bucklerash on the back. Neck is excellent just lemon-oiled and with a new set of Roto Swing bass 40-100. Will come with a spare set of flats and a gig-bag. I bought it very recently but I prefer the feel of maple boards these days so having gigged it I know it’s not for me. This is all original and sounds great. I can post in the UK. I’d only consider a trade on a US made Fender P bass with maple board (with cash top up from me) or a Markbass CMD 151 combo. Cash preferred.

Actually it’s a 50/50 bass here’s a pic of what it ought to look like....

If it’s the same one and it would be an amazing coincidence if another with a replacement MIJ neck existed It’s turned up on eBay a few times. Looks like it’s been parted out as last time it had it’s original pickup assembly on, that must have been sold separately. I actually have an original smoked perspex bridge and pickup cover set for the 40/40.

That folks is a Hayman 40/40 or Shergold Modulator body with a cheap Japanese neck transplanted to it and a custom pickguard and pickups. Note the Perspex bridge. The lacquer cracking is typical of a Hayman, looking closer it has F holes so definitely a rare Hayman 20/20 ?semi acoustic body. It’s something I will definitely be having a bid on!

Dr Bass 1260 cab I recently bought one of these cabs off eBay as I’d heard great things about the product - although dodgy things about the business practices of the builder. The cab arrived but had been badly handled by the courier resulting in the midrange 6.5” speaker coming adrift and being thumped around in transit. I reseated this and drilled new mounting holes. There appeared to be no obvious damage however the driver is no longer functional. I checked all connections and nothing appears loose or damaged. I have no other measuring equipment than my ears, eyes and putting my fingers on the cone to feel if it is moving, it isn’t and I can only hear a signal through the main 12” driver and tweeter. My question is about replacing the mid driver. The main woofer is an Eminence Gamma 12 presumably 8ohms and the mid is a 6.5 Eminence LA6 CBMR. This is labelled 8 ohms. There’s a tweeter and some kind of crossover, with two speakon sockets and an attenuater for the tweeter. The speaker cab was sold to me as an 8ohm cab and online info indicates 8ohms when manufactured. However both speakers appear to be 8ohm drivers so I’d expect the total impedance to be 4ohms? Even with the defunct mid it sounds really punchy so I’d like to replace the mid speaker to bring it up to full spec. So would it be advisable to simply buy a replacement mid speaker of the same specifications as a direct replacement? Will the crossover have any effect on the total load? Any suggestions, advice would be most welcome.

YHere is my Mantra bass filter, it sounds great and is very flexible with lots of variation and two programmable user presets. It’s in excellent condition with psu, box and manual. I’m not using it as much as I intended to and tend to stick with my EH Bassballs as it’s a bit more straightforward to use live. Can post for a fiver uk only.

It’s cheap and cheerful but plays really well and sounds just like a good P bass ought too. Very light at around 3.8kgs with a nice satin feel neck, maple board and thin vintage style frets. The tuners are a bit cheap looking but work fine and the bass is newly strung with rotos. I bought it as a back up whilst my trusty JV was having work done and for the price this did the job well. UK only pickup preferred but I would post at buyers cost. Only trades would be on a Markbass cab or combo with some money from me. It comes with a gigbag. Thanks

I have two of these for sale - both fit my Fender US made 1979 Precision Bass however I’ve managed to repair the original ‘79 one so they are up for sale. One has an extra hole for a switch drilled that is now taped over so that one is £12 posted. The second one I imported from the US and it’s had no modification - this one is £14 posted in the UK. Both have minor marks from use but no cracks or breaks. Three ply black white black - see pics. Cheers.

Interesting that - it’s been about a bit that bass. The picture of it on the rug is from my sale. You can see my Tele bass in the background. I sold it previous to you buying it on eBay my description and pictures clearly showing it as a Sterling as did this sale - I can say it’s a fantastic pro bass and certainly worth the asking price. I just didn’t get on with the five strings so sold it on quickly and cheaply. Good luck with the sale. Hopefully it will find a permanent home! PS it was absolutely covered in stickers when I bought it that took a lot of effort to clean off.
