  3. The neck looks alot darker than mine is that just age ot has it been treated in some way?
  4. I have an HH version with the same SLO neck, they are great and the necks are really good and the nut width is more like a jazz. However the thickness of the neck is more like a P bass so the best of both world. Good luck with your sale, should not be here for long!!!!
  5. Well all here was my approach and i at happy with it: 1: Hold down 1st fret with a capo (or wife or child like i used) and the last fret. 2: Measure the gap between the E string and the 8th fret. 3: I had no gap so had to raise it by turning the truss rod wheel to the left 1/4 of a turn. 4: Measured gap again with feeler gauge at 8th fret trying to get a 0.3mm gap, gap was 0.3 (luck). 5: String height seemed and felt high to me at 2.4mm (the suggested height by most videos on you tube). 6: Adjusted the saddles so the strings were 2mm from the fret-board at the 12th fret. All seems to be working fine. This is the first time i have ever done this in 26 years of playing as i thought it was voodoo. I would suggest to all to not be afraid of this it was easy as, If you follow the instructions above i don't think you can go wrong. String height on the saddles is personal preference but i like mine low.
  6. Hi all, just picked up a great stingray slo special HH 4 string. Have put a new set of 30-90 strings on and all is good, however the string height seems a little high to me, however between the 1st and 4th frets there is a hint of fret buzz. At the 12 fret the gap is about 2.5 / 3mm. what would be the best coarse of action in setting up this great beasty. thanks in advance for your help. Rob
  7. Thats just too radical for me, good luck with your sale however, sure someone will snap it up soon.
  8. I love it, but i would never get my head around all the knobs and switches!!!!!
  9. I find the same with glossy necks, my daughter squire jazz is great but it does slow me down and feels strange to me. You could try some wet and dry on it to make it satin. My daughter wont let me do this on hers which is a shame, however she has no issue with the finish unlike me, I think its my clammy hands.
  10. 5 strings, thank god if it was 4 i would have been skint!!!!
  11. Love the look of this, how much do they weigh and do you ever come near Oxford?
  12. Thanks guys for the feedback, Bob the dog get out there with your RH750 bet it would sound awesome.
  13. This is a lovely bass, just most of us have other halfs that would remove our love spuds if we spent that much money.
  14. umm bongo,
  15. Hi all, I have a TC RH450 and a RS212 cab and i am looking for another cab to get the noise closer to my ears (6ft 4). I am think that a RS210 would make sense to as i would have a bit more sparkle in the upper range to go with the 2x12. Does anyone have this setup and if so how do they find it? Kind Regards Rob
  16. Thanks, I have learnt something useful today.
  17. Sorry for being a bit silly here but is this a Fender then? what is the Fullerton reference too? I really dont know my P basses that well and would appreciate some up skilling on the matter.
  18. I have Lollars in my Bill Nash pb57 with extra jazz pickup added (by Bill Nash) and can say they are the best Jazz and P pickups i have ever heard. Mine also came with the stacked pots with tone and volume for each pickup, Like a 62 Jazz. Whoever buys this will love it, if i did not have too many already i would have it and put the stacked pots in it. Good luck with the sale Big Rob

  22. Datum hole maybe, is there a mark on the back of the neck that you line up with the hole to make sure its aligned correctly before you tighten the screw? Cannot see why you would need one if its made to fit properly but if its cheap then maybe that's why. cannot see why you would need it for spraying as i have not see it before, but could be. Rob :-)
  23. If that had been black i would have had it, come on someone this looks cheap to me
