    On thing that blocks me from hitting the ground is that no size fits all. Each of my drummers has his preferences, and that differs wildly. A bass that pleases one drummer, annoys, distracts or puts to sleep the other drummer. I like my drummers, I like having many basses, so we're fine.

    I'm a huge fan of the 0-fret concept. Having owned several Lefays and others basses with it. PRO: - lower, more natural string action in low positions - open string provides same sound as fretted CON: - none The 0-fret is typically a little bit thicker than the other frets.

    Not my point of view. Gimme your budget and I'm happy to compile and send over a list of second hand 6ers available on the German market. Most sellers are easy with shipping (in the UK sellers appear to be a little more prudent and often prefer handover). Beware of Brexit, you will have to pay customs.

    Any soundclips? I really wonder, how the luthier managed to get his hands on a pair of Lefay Rough Crystals. The Dobbratz brothers does not sell them separately. They did this for some time, many many years before, but abandoned that business.
