  1. For several years a cable has been £14 for a pair of jacks plus £2 per metre for the cable. If you want just the cable it's £2.50 per metre.
  2. Yes. The website price is for fully made cables with connectors. This just for raw cable..
  3. About midway between Hayle and Helston near Godolphin House. Easy reach of both coasts and away from the touristy places. I left Cornwall when I was 11 and now it's time to go home, albeit 63 years later. It remains to be seen what the music situation is there and whether anyone wants a 74 year old bass player. 😀
  4. As some of you already know Mrs OBBM and I will be relocating to West Cornwall once our current house has been sold and I am taking the move as an opportunity to wind-up Rock-Wire and fully retire. I am therefore starting to sell off surplus cable and components. Sommer SC-Classique Vinatge Tweed Yellow/Black @ £2.00 per metre plus postage Sommer Tricone Mk2 @ £1 per metre plus postage (good for pedalboards) Sommer Spirit LLX @ £2.50 per metre plus postage Klotz AC110 @ £2.50 per metre plus postage Sommer SYMASYM Combined Instrument/Monitor Cable @ £5 per metre Hicon Banjo Jacks @£2.00 each Postage will depend on length/weight and the cheapest is Royal Mail 2nd Class @ £3.00 for up to 2Kg.
  5. Sorry to hear this Lozz. You've always been so upbeat and enthusiastic about your band that it must have been really tough call however your personal well-being is what really matters. I can empathise with you as I had to do the same some years ago. Rest assured something will pop up that will enable you to continue playing whist still maintaining a sensible music/life balance.
  6. As I have secured a replacement the price is dropped to £1750.
  7. Have a bump for a superb short scale bass. @Frank Blank this is the sister to my Shorty.
  8. Sadly up for sale is my almost new Spector CTB Fretless, serial number 009. This has only had limited home use. It's very light and a joy to play however retirement from gigging and an impending house move means it has to go. It comes complete with the Spector supplied Gig Bag. I would prefer to sell outright however trade suggestions are welcome, however please do not be offended if I decline. I should have said that this is 30 3/8 scale length. NOW DOWN TO £1750. Here is the full specification from the Spector web site. The NS-2 CT-B is a unique take on the classic NS-2. 9. Nope. I'm 5'6".
  10. I think the first National Bash was around 2006 at that Motel on the A45 between Northampton and the M1. Maybe someone can put an actual date on it. It was 2007 when I organised the very first SE Bash at that grotty rehearsal studio under the arches next to Guildford Station.
  11. I used to run a pair of these with an ABM-500 head. Very loud and punchy but I had difficulty hearing myself when standing directly in front of them. 30 feet away was a different matter, they could slice cheese.
  12. Once again a very interesting day. Thanks to Nik, Colin and Mrs Hamster. Anyone know where I can get a Rob Allen Fretless Mouse?😁
  13. If I could turn back the clock I would not have stopped playing and sold my bass and amp when I was 21, and then wait 23 years before starting again. I should have just kept going.

  15. Does anyone coming to the Bash have 32" scale Fender MIJ Precision or Jazz that they could bring? I need to try one before buying.
  16. I saw TM Stevens playing a double neck Thumb at Music Messe in Frankfurt many years ago. His had a large graphic of Africa on the front and was 4-string + 8-string.
  17. Interesting. I spent 40 years in broadcast engineering designing, project managing and commissioning systems. Most of it for a major equipment manufacturer. Sadly I never got to visit YLE.
  18. That's a European Shuko connector. Is the mains cable hard wired? It's not fused, that's just the maximum rating of the plug.
  19. I'm not familiar with Darkglass equipment but from the diagram, text, and manual it would seem that with the Microtubes engine disengaged the clean signal goes straight to the compressor.
  20. Be careful! Most twin channel amps are 2 pre-amps and a single power amp. What you need is a single channel pre-amp and 2 power amps, each with its own volume control. Alternatively use 2 x bass heads and route the effects sends to a switch or mixer and then back to the effects return. You then have individual control of each power amp volume and can switch between the 2 pre-amps.
  21. Although the spec sheet says the Mooer can handle speakers they don't say how much power (amperes through the switches) it can take before it explodes. It's probably fine for low wattage guitar amps however I doubt that it can take 500-watts from a bass amp. I would contact them and ask what the upper limits are. In answer to point 2, I've never come across a speaker level mixer. If you are running a bass amp at a modest 200-watts and you want to attenuate that by 50% then 100-watts is going to be absorbed by the attenuator/volume control which means it will get very hot. Think about how hot a 100-watt tungsten light bulb gets. There are such devices for guitar amps such as these (https://www.thomann.de/gb/attenuators.html) however they will not handle bass amp power outputs. As I said previously the simplest, easiest and cheapest solution is to run a second power amp/bass head in parallel with your bass head. Not what you wanted to hear but I hope it helps.
  22. Boss LS2 is designed for instrument level signals not speaker size volts. If you want to use it then it needs to be before any power amps so you would need 2 power amps, each of which would have a volume control so the LS2 becomes superfluous.
  23. It's a shame but I am unable to view the image however checking my records I believe that these were made at different times. I'm pretty certain that they are Y-cables designed to send the single output of a pre-amp to the two channels of a power amp.
  24. Trades considered. What you got?
