What sort of music obbm??
I suppose you'd call it Rock covers - Thin Lizzy, G 'N' R, Dire Straits, Bon Jovi, Clapton, Chuck Berry, Quo, AC/DC, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams - all the usual suapects. Three of us are retired and the average age is 57.5, but that doesn't deter us.
 2.
Thats pretty poor, I remember seing your piccy on the web site Are you back in a band now?
Yes! I was pretty lived as I had to refund the buyer for the cost of getting it sorted. Band? Sort of yes. We have 2 guitars, bass and drums and although three of us can sing none of us have got strong enough voices to front the band so we are looking and looking and looking for a singer. Musically it gelled very quickly but we need a quality singer.
 3.
Perhaps a black and gold JPS Jazz Bass
Now that is a nice idea although I think that the Musicman did something like that a couple of years ago. This is getting very very OT. Perhaps we should start a Lotus page in Off Topic and continue the car chat there. Back OT, I couldn't fault Ashdown service when they fixed my ABM500 a few years ago and returned it in a couple odf days. It was only when I sold it and the buyer took it to have it serviced and the Tech found that the underside of the motherboard had been bodge repaired with Tin-copper wire where it had blown. This was a warranty repair when they should have replaced the motherboard completely. I was none too happy and asked to be removed from their web site.
 4.
Hey obbm, I would love to see that ruuning again, especially as your about 15 mins (10 in the Elise) down the road from me. Beautiful looking Esprit. What's up with her anyway?
I got in '87 after I sold the Ginetta G12 and used it occassionally however after a longish period of inactivity the clutch seized to the flywheel. None of the known techniques would free it and I concluded that it was going to be an engine-out job. What with work, house rebuilding, redundnacy, music, gas expenditure, and starting a business I never got round to it. I reasoned that if the engine is coming out (only done 45K from new, then I might as well have it rebuilt . In it's current state it has a low value but the value of the car running is about the same as the cost of the rebuild, so no point in doing anything at the moment. It can sit there until I pop my clogs and then my son can have the problem.
 5. So we have some Lotus enthusiasts. I still have this one: Unfortunately it hasn't run for many years but one day it will go again. At least that's what I keep telling myself, and Mrs OBBM. Alternatively I'd consider swapping it for a pristine Frogeye Sprite or an early 60's Jazz.
 6. The standard Fender designed tone stack used in many pre-amps (Trace V-type, BBE, Alembic, old Fender, and many others) is bass and treble boost and mid cut. To make it flat you need to set the bass and treble at 2 and the mid at 10.

 9.
OBBM can I use the midsweep in conjunction with another preamp, say an EMG preamp? if that is positive then I'll have it.
It's a completely stand alone circuit so I would say yes.
 10.
how much we looking at here buddy?
It's effectively brand new so I reckon £90 posted.

 13. I braved the cold and ran the LG1000 up in the garage yesterday. Firstly it works out of the box which is a good start. The I tried it into my pair of Epifani 1x12s, which are 8-ohms each, and then just one channel into Berg NV610, which is 4-ohms. Using the passive Duck Dunn I found I had to have the input gain wound right up to make the indicator lights operate. I haven't tried an active bass yet. The tracking of the volume control is certainly different to the Epi UL502. When driving the two 8-ohm cabs I needed to wind it quite a way up for it to be loud, but then I'm half deaf so it could have been VERY loud. Difficult to tell in the confines of the garage, the test will be when I use it at a venue. Difficult to comment on the Ashdown woolly thing but it's certainly not as clear as the UL502 although with the EQ out and no presets it sounded quite clean. I also took the opportunity to use an EBS Microbass as a pre-amp and go straight into the Fx Return, so bypassing the pre-amp. That sounded pretty good. Verdict. It works. I reckon I can eventually dial in my sound. It seems to prefer 4-ohm load to 8-ohm, probably more than other amps I've owned. It's a very light and cheap 500+500-watt power amp. It will make a good back-up and jam session backline amp. I think it would work very well into one or two 4-ohmcabs, preferably a pair of Berg NV610s of failing that a pair of UL310s.

 15. How many speakers? Just the one? If so then connect the red or + terminal on the speaker chassis to 1+ on the Speakon and the other speaker terminal to 1- on the Speakon.

 23.
You kept that quiet
I had an rethink on my half rack stack you saw when you came over. I thought about an F1 but it's too wide and three times the price. The LG1000 is under 1/2 rack wide so it fits the bill nicely and will drive each of my 1x12s. Physically it'll fit well with the dBX compressor and the wireless monitoring. What I need now is a half rack flight case. If I'd have known that this was coming I'd have never have sold the UL310 and bought the NV610, I'd just have bought another UL310.
 24. I received my LG1000 from Sounds Live last week but haven't had the chance to plug it in yet as it's too cold in the garage. I have a possible gig on Friday so I may well use it then.
