1. Have you got a multimeter so you can a] check your pup is sound and b] suss out which wire does what?
2. Nah your limiting your intonation adjustment span with that 'un.
3. Aye. The good thing with the 3D is that it has lateral adjustment so it can be made to fit many spacings... and it looks a bit like your Ibby one... from a distance.
4. Mmmm not really. If the new bridge's holes don't impose on the old holes then just leave them.. otherwise plug them with kebab skewers etc. You might as well put sticky tape over them if you are going to use wood filler.
5. Just seen your pic on Flickr. Yeah it's fecked. Schaller 3D would be a good replacement, although it doesn't have the same 4 screw design.
6.
It's still functional as in "the strings go over the bridge & it plays ok", but I was going to raise the action for an upcoming gig (fret clank is getting on me thruppnies). if you look at the top pic you can see a locking screw at the end of each saddle, well the saddle is completely cracked right across. I think I may have over tightened them last time I was playing with the action. I'll take a pic & upload it just now.
Nice one I can't really make out too much from the pic.
7. Presumably it was functional before you took it off. Can you explain a bit more why the bridge is broken?
8.
Might know someone who could be interested. They're not my thing really but if my friend is, I'll post on here.
Haha what did I tell you OP?
9. I have it on good authority that Eminence Deltalite II 2510's are the ones to go for.
10. It seems a lot of people are having problems sorting out their pics on this new rather user-un-friendly version of the forum. Here...
11.
i'm not much cop at putting images up tbh, i managed ok before the revamp! anyhow, cheers for adding that last pic! i forgot to add that to the list above!!
No probs. I never even realised it wasn't on the list. Just open up the photobucket page, then hover your mouse over a pic, a pop-up opens - left click on the bottom option (with the
12. Your pics work fine in the forum... but they are awfully small.
13.
Thanks for the warning, what should I do though? I have literally no idea what it's worth...
If you post a thread in the Bass Guitar sub-section under "Gear" asking people's opinions of it's value you will get a few good answers... and ironically you will also likely get some offers... but rules is rules. Welcome to the forum btw.
14.
I have this bass to sell, have no idea what it might be worth to anyone, I've owned it for approx 27 years and never played it. It has a few dings from house moves a few times. A shop looked at it and tested it about a year ago and said it was all working fine, would just need new strings and a set-up if I wanted to play it. Apart from that, know nothing about it, except that its all original as far as I know. (I've never touched it) If you're interested, want to make me an offer or see more photos, please get in contact. Would want it picked up from the London area. Cheers.
Sorry buddy forum rules state you must include a price.... or risk having the thread being pulled by the mods.
15. Do not switch it on again and take it to a qualified tech.
16. Both are miles better than Warwick top horns. They just look like big fecking dildos to me.
17. Nice one. We got a taster of the colour in an earlier pic... possibly a good match for the chap in your avatar.
18. That's some sh*tty news about your car mate, couldn't have come at a worse time either. Have bermp.
19.
That's a nice finish, did you use a dedicated buffer with wool buff's?
Cheers. Yes. Although the hard to get to bits were all done by hand.
20. It's Farecla G10 (fine) and G3 (coarse) that I have. I get very good scratch free results with it. Here's a deep polish I did for one of the guys on here... I've just found some on ebay. Be careful with it though, it seeps into your skin and (with me anyway) can be sort of painful for a day or two... also if you play guitar after using it your fingers go black as it reacts with the metal in the strings... some sort of gloves are probably in order.
21. It should work, although it might be a little too abrasive. Test it on an area that will be under the p/g first. Use lots of water for lubrication. I use a product which is designed to be used in the auto industry too but it is a particularly fine version (in fact I have 2 different grades of the stuff) and was given to me by a professional auto painter.
22. Apparently the magnets can lose strength over time, making the output a little less powerful. I'm sure if this were the case you'd already know.
23. I don't know if all the basses do but I've been in bands with guitarist who've had SGs and they all had it.
