..... maybe I should list it on Ebay as a 'rare 80's relic'...
Don't forget to mention it's a "lawsuit" bass.... it's all the rage you know. Hey if £21 gets you something you can play and make folk happy then it's all good in my book. NIce score.
.... I don't get the "if you deal with idiots long enough you'll resent them" angle. I worked in bars until I got fed up with drunken idiots and their highly amusing (to them) antics. So I quit working in bars. If you can't do customer service correctly then you're in the wrong job.
I think that's it too. Too many people are just unsuited to their jobs and just end up wanting to do as little as possible in order to pick up a cheque at the end of the month - again I point the finger at management for not being as good with the selection process as they are being paid to be. Also there isn't enough careers advice to help people find the job that's perfect for them and certainly not enough encouragement for an early age or as a nation to become self employed (nation of shopkeepers?... er I don't think so Mr Napoleon) .... although I dare say that if every teenager got major careers help based on their likes and dislike we would end up with some fantastic bar staff... but 50 tattoo parlours and suntan shops in the every high street.
.... The ironic thing is that it sounds and plays better than any Mexican Fender that i have tried ...
Sounds +++ AWESOME +++.

I think that because a portion of their time is spend dealing with noobs, a lot of specialised retail staff fall into the trap of thinking that they are the experts on whatever field it may be (musical, computers, mobile phones ...) and they forget that now and again they will meet someone who has forgotten more than they will ever know. Along with this bloated opinion of their own knowledge comes the inability to admit that they just don't know something (and can't be bothered checking up for you) and 9 out of 10 times they just make up some Bull Squirt on the spot. How many threads are started here by poor guys confused what to do who start with "The guy in my local music shop said...."? I never go into our local music shops now as they are an utter waste of time but if I'm in say PC world to pick up printing supplies or whatever I'm shocked at the complete crap sales assistants say to bemused customers - you can tell all the noobs as they leave by the copy of Norton under their arm. Of course the flip-side is that clueless customers often can't be bothered to do their homework beforehand and rely heavily on the sales person for their opinion... completing the cycle of what I said to start with ^. I have completely written off these types of retail outlets and just use forums for knowledge bases and shop online. As the example of Germany has been used, I used to live there and yes they certainly know how to give you the feeling that you are a valued customer... I mean you go for a beer and with every drink they give you a wee coaster... even in dives. Imagine what would happen here, the staff would keep it up for 2 weeks then lose interest, the manager would walk past pile upon pile of unused coasters in the back-room but because he/she's deligated this task to the head bar-person they wouldn't wonder why they were just sitting there never going down... or even care.

My dad owns a couple of shops (not music). He demands the highest from his staff. If for any reason they don't adhere to shop policy in appearance, attentiveness and productivity they are out. He takes a great interest in each of his employees and their home lives and makes them feel part of "the family" - they are even consulted when new staff are brought in. Accordingly they are extremely well paid for their field (most own their own houses) and are extremely motivated... but not in a bad cut-throat way. You never go in there and see them standing about chatting - they are always busy on displays or any little jobs that need to be done. I think the fact that they are paid well means the difference between a good level of service and a mediocre one. Sadly most employers don't make that connection.
.... 2. Build materials .....
Ooh a groove joint... nice wee detail for such a budget box. OMG I'm totally starting to sound like a bloody RS fanboy.
Funny my Initial thought was it was going to be a YT vid to a band.
Had a wee google.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EejoqLz6m84 Apparently it's also the name of a clean living bike club up here in Scotland, made up from ex-patch wearers who (like myself) no longer feel the need to be affiliated.
My money is on the cabs being identical.
Have you seen them? The Promethean has a lighter more refined construction whereas the RS is built like a tank. edit : Haha beaten to it. Typing fast on my phone is not my forte. Where did you get the pic Matt?
P-bass with limited funds. I'm not in any rush for one, so I'm just scoping out the for sale section on here, plus ebay and my local free ad website. I liked the look of the Deacon....onwards and upwards!
Shame it has to be a P bass. Jose's ASAT copy looks to be a hell of a bargain if you're watching the pennies.

Hmmm I qiute like that... think I'll build me one.

I mainly play a 4 string that to all intents and purposes is a 5 string but without the thin one.
......I know the HB and RedSub heads are similar, but they have a different front end and I'd put money on the design of the cab and the quality of the speaker of the Promethean being quite a bit better. Eude
I honestly hate to disagree with you about the cabs Ewan but given that the two heads are so similar, and having heard both in action I've got to say that as I preferred the sound of the RedSub I'd say that it's cab is more suited to the form factor than the 'methean's. Having said that, I dare say that the 'methean will address some of the misgivings I had with the RS head going into a quality cab.
I dont get this +++ and AWESOME word at this forum...
Ach it was just something that got started recently with a guy (forgetting how many experts there are on here) trying to over-hype a budget bass he had for sale... then as if that weren't enough he was asking more than double on here than he was on ebay and that (not to mention being against forum rules) got a few backs up. Don't worry, it'll die down in a day or two once we've got it out of our system.

For what it's worth, my six string Strat used to be a Jim Deacon... well I say that... all that's left now is the body - the rest has been fully tricked out. I'm very careful with my guitars etc and it didn't take long to pick up knocks, scour marks and chips in the finish, which to be fair I'm not too bothered about it as I generally only use it for recording. I see the seller is trying to convince the Q&A guy that (despite the caveat of not having looked) the body might in fact be maple ... but definitely not mahogany Only 2 unrelated major brands spuriously mentioned in the listing this time...Wa-gwan?
He has been brought up before even joined and posted . Go look in the EBAY section. BUT after seeing his 7-6 string conversions I have the impression of being a bodger .
Haha nicely restrained answer dude. When I first saw this thread I thought it was a windup.

Only just about every day of my life. Slacken off or remove the screws near your controls and gently lift the p/g (maybe jam it open with something) then flip it over and shake it. If nothing comes out you might just have to take the whole p/g off.
