1. I let my search die exactly for that reason, all the spam you have to trawl through. People should be made to list items in their correct sections only rather than spamming everywhere on the off chance of drumming up some business - the annoying thing is, it the pro sellers that do this and usually not the private one.
2.
Yeah,maybe that's the answer.
Yep sure is. I've done it for a couple of people now. One guy did a lot of fingerboard tapping so needed the extra freedom of movement around the neck. Plus the strap hugs you and is therefore less likely to fall off if you are moving about or not playing.
3.
Personally I think 1700 is a lot steep.
Don't say that to Pete you'll just set him off again.
4. Well usually the neck heel is the safest bet but you don't want that. Why?
5.
G&L UK distributors: http://www.gotoguitars.com/
Hehe we were talking about this last night.
6.
Oooh steady now, some of us G&L fans don't take to the P/Jazz/Stingray not quite business! Part of G&L's problem has been that obviously the fenders came first and were great, the stingray came along and consolidated the success of active basses around at the time, and bass players haven't seen G&L as an evolution of those 3, but as a summary. Well, I don't think I'm alone in preferring the former attitude, the G&L sound is a development of what came before, and if you can get over what your ears have become used to when using or listening to the ancestors, can offer a great deal in terms of tone and different character. Leo said they were the best instruments he ever made!
This. The G&L bass range has quite few different flavours and it would be as inaccurate to discuss all G&L's as "this sound" as it would all Fenders. I presume for the purposes of this discussion we are mainly talking about L2k's as they are the most common and versatile bass.
7.
IF THE BASS HAS 2 PICKUPS ,TURN ONE UPSIDE DOWN SO THAT YOU HAVE A DOWN STROKE AND AN UPSTROKE PICKUP
8. Did you have to tell us about your instrument abuse? I can't see that it isn't a technique issue. Even supposing there was a physical fault with the bass, to combat it you just have to pluck harder (ie. adjust you technique) on the down stroke.
9. MM Sterling.
10.
Here's a couple of nice Fujigen Jazzes - first of all a 79/80 CSL, like mine only blacker: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220646803893 Highly recommended if it's anything like mine - it's an astonishingly good player & probably my favourite bass. ...... J.
Looks like you could fly a plane under the action on that 'un.
11. Certainly not. Unless you often leave it with the jack plugged in while not playing.
12. Just rub some cream on it. It won't heal any faster but it will feel nice for a wee while.
13. I don't even know who Tony Giggler from Folded Batflap is let alone want to flame him, her, it.
14. It's kinda like an infinite amount of monkeys with an infinite amount of keyboards, bass flash cards and internet access situation.
15. Ha ha I bet it sounds $hit too.
16. Lindy Fralins are the most frickin awsome Jazz pups I've ever heard, or proper (as in handmade not factory produced) Bill Lawrence J45's.
17. Yeah probably just a typo.... in the title and the body.
18. Superglue and a light sanding?
19.
in response to the OP on price, (which we will get moaned at for ) I would guess around £800?
Only if you contradict the OP's asking price Pete. Sound's like a fair opening price to me.
20. What kind of bass and bridge?
21.
...I fiddled around for quite a while trying to figure out what the problem is. I think i've gotten it down to being either the head or the speaker.....
So it's not the wood then, phew. Seriously though we'll need more details. Model , age, what causes the symptoms (playing or just switching it on) etc.. If it's definitly the amp and not a dodgy cable or something, my gut instinct is the valve (if it has a valve front end) is shot.
22.
For the month of August only Ernie Ball Music Man has a special ordeing window where you can order any model of basses and guitars (except the Classic series) with a highly figure roasted maple neck, ebony fngerboard, and their limited edition BFR inlay at the 12th fret, only problem is... no choice of body colour as they only offer it in black sugar whatever that is, as per the pic below..
It's black with a sparkle through it. The roasted maple is lovely isn't it, looks like Guinness settling to me.
23. That would be brilliant. We could workout which bit of kit is the forum bike.
