1. There was a discussion a couple of months back here.
2. Wow great condish.
3.
Hi all I occupy the Geezer Butler position in a Sabbath tribute....
Nice gig man. Something I've always wanted to do.
4. Man, you'd almost think that this was made from a pre ebmm.
5. Just spotted this one on our FB. (last nights gig)
6. My Korg PX4D does a pretty good job of removing the bass off any track you you want to pipe into the aux in.
7. Bet it sounds quite different too with the pup there.
8. Just everything on that is wrong... everything. Particularly love the "burnt orange" description.... orange peel more like.
9. Ooh can I have a free t-shirt too? I no longer use Ashdown but I do still big up the brand (in fact I was doing just that with a bassist who came up to me after last night's gig).
10. The Tunnels Aberdeen last night.
11. I'll stake an interest in a pair of the 2510's if you decide to return the Bluelines to their rightful home.
12. Tippety tappety doodley noodle. I'm awesome.
13. I agree with Noel - £500-50 range. I think your bridge is acceptable for it's age and the crazing is lovely. But if you sourced a period control plate in better nick you will probably be able to add another ton to that price (sold with the original). Black crinkle stuff comes up on the US bay all the time, you might get lucky.
14. Tonight
15.
....theres also a CSL jazz copy that looks quite nice if out of focus. Of course it had to get the word ibanez in there, even if it probably is a ibby under a different brand this time! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CSL-Jazz-bass-co...d#ht_816wt_1138
Love the up-to-date date stamp on the pics. Could mean anything though I suppose... new battery, anything.
16.
Is that a finger, or is he just showing out. Does that ad' say which toilet to meet in.
Haha yeah. "or you can pick it up at your convenience".
17. If you put [img] at the start of your pic links and [/img] at the end then we'll be able to see your pics without actually having to click on them while trying to remember the ones we've already clicked.
18.
The one that's been on eBay several times in the last few weeks is an SBV re-issue from about 10 years ago. This one is an original.
Zigzactly.
19. Wow now those hardly ever come up over here. I believe they were for the Jap market only.
20.
Right, I have confirmed details on the pickup from the guy who put it in. It’s a Seymour Duncan Basslines SCPB-2 Single Coil. He said he sanded off the writing on the top, and I now recall that I sanded off some more of it, when it arrived, as some was still slightly visible. I have two more of these jap basses, including a Sting, and this pickup is far superior to those, so I knew it wasn’t a stock pickup. Hope this clarifies, here's a brochure pic of the pickup;
That makes more sense. As I say I've put most of these pups through their paces. I personally though the Jap pup was favourable when put up against the SD's 1 and 2. Having said that I did choose an SCPB-3 in one of my homemade basses though.... and of course the king of all single coil P's in my Shuker... the Lollar. Continued good luck with the sale.
21.
Any sticker was removed, the guy removed all traces of anything like that, so i am unable to verify. I'm sure he's right, and it is,....
Oh that's a shame. I wonder why he would do that? He may have actually devalued it a little now.... unless like basses "relic'ing" a pup adds value too. There is another way to tell though mate, the Antiquity should have a raised A pole, also you should be able to make out if the sleeving on the wires is waxed... it's hard to tell from the angle of your pic also there looks to be a bit of a shine on your black wire - could be wrong though. Also I believe the Antiquity II may have a lighter coloured lower bobbin - which yours clearly doesn't have so that would rule that particular one out. I have been through just about every one of these type of pups, and for my money if there's no identity sticker, no raised A pole and no waxed sleeving I'd suggest it's the original Fender pup.
22.
Before you ask, yes, its mine, the only reason its not on the for sale section here, is because i don't know how much to sell for, no idea, and you need a price to post, so its here instead, have a look, and a bid if you fancy it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FENDER-PRECISION...=item336b837f7d
Good call opening at that price you should attract quite a few prospective buyers... rather than those who start off high and lose out. You say you have no way of verifying if it's a SD Antiquity pup. However, SD always put a sticker on the back of their pups to let you know the specific model, just whip it out and you'll know.
23. He says it's for sale in Germany only.
