I have absolutely no idea which is which, but the sound on A is, to my ears, much nicer. I'd suspect that this is the American Jazz thru POD?

Obviously not as good at forging packaging as they are at decals!

Simple question really Just wondering if many of you sing backing vocals (either in your current band, or in general) I've been dabbling recently with the hope that it'll improve my employability as a live session bass player, for tours etc. But...is it necessary? Cheers guys! Danny

I have exactly the same after my 5 hour busking session on Saturday (see other thread) Not as bad as the end of Summer though - 3 gigs on consecutive nights after I'd been out of practice for a while, by the third night it really, REALLY hurt!

I'm GASsing right now for a Bongo HS, I just love the look of that particular model, and the playability of the model itself is extremely comfortable. +1 on whoever recommended the Flea Bass too though!

I used the HB Jazz Copy yesterday to go busking, and while it didn't sound anywhere near as good as my Warwick, it really surprised me with it's playability, and the tone was acceptable for something that costs little more than a couple of nights out on the town.

Hello all, I'm going busking tomorrow as part of a 'Buskathon' in my town, commemorating the death of a local busker who passed away last Saturday. It'll be myself and a few friends playing some rock classics, similar to the stuff you'd hear in a pub. So anyway - Is there anything I should or shouldn't do before I go? I'll be using an amp (at a low level) and a cheapo Harley Benton bass to be heard over the acoustic guitars. I'm a little concerned that it may rain though, are there any precautions I should take? I used them for a long time and was very happy with them before moving completely to flatwounds. I don't think it was the Prosteels in particular (more roundwound strings in general) but I always found that the D and G strings had a different tone to the other two. They're relatively inexpensive, so it may be worth picking up a set to see if you like them, and if not, it's a lesson learned for not too much cash?

It's just such a simple and great sounding bass - if you try and improve upon it, you just overcomplicate it and remove the very essence which makes it great - simplicity! Always one of my favourite basses.

Hello all, Not really 'Amps and Cabinets' material but I figured this is probably the place best suited to my question! It's a simple question, so hopefully someone can help me out! I'm buying a multicore snake to connect my band's mics, DI's etc etc to the desk, probably 30m in length, and I'm looking at a 16/4 version (ie 16 sends and 4 returns) My question is this - would 4 returns be enough for an average band or would I need more? It would be used to feed 2 powered tops and 2 powered subs as well as a couple of powered monitors, and although maths is not my speciality I believe this would require 6 returns? Or am I wrong? Can I roll with the 16/4 and get some sort of signal splitter on stage to feed all 4 FOH speakers from the same return? Or is there a simpler solution? I hope I've made myself clear! You LUCKY LUCKY man! I'd absolutely love to play a gig with a Who tribute band. You'll have a great time of it, their music is so energetic when played live. I suggest you take a look at some of their live videos on Youtube etc, from the Isle Of Wight Festival, Woodstock etc etc, that'll give you an idea of the pure power of the music you'll be playing. I love The Who. That performance of WGFA is (in my opinion) one of the greatest rock songs performed by one of the greatest bands ever. And the bass playing is just phenomenal! Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, I know there are a hell of a lot of Who fans on here who'd agree with my 2 cents!

Which mic are you using? Is the pickup pattern cardioid, supercardioid or something else? It's quite possible that if you place the wedge directly in front of the microphone stand that the mic will pick up some of the monitor feed. I know this has been the case for me in the past when using supercardioids, as the pickup pattern was as below: Is this of any help? Apart from that I can only really suggest a problem with a cable somewhere along the line, or perhaps the monitors themselves are to blame? Danny
