Just getting to grips with the HX Stomp - oh my what a unit! I've added a 50hz low cut EQ block and Rochester comp with a 4:1 ratio to literally every patch I create. Such a clean, even sound! Made a great patch for Plug In Baby (Muse) and also a few automatic drop tuning patches for when my band tunes to drop C etc. So useful and I've only scratched the surface!
I use the Cruztools Bass Player kit:
https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Cruz_Tools.html
Has everything you need for a full setup except radius gauges and a tuner. The only thing I can't do with it is fretwork!
Sold Ross a set of Jazz Bass pickup covers, I received payment minutes after his PM and communications were excellent throughout. Many thanks mate and enjoy!
Been said above but the way a bass is set up makes a huge difference to how it feels and sounds. I've been paying a lot more attention to my own basses' setups recently and have never been happier with them.
€100? I would rather he added it on if anything. An insult. You'd never get this kind of carry on from Jon Shuker or any respected bass builder worth his salt. If people skills are below par but the product is amazing, that can be forgiven. If people skills are amazing and the product is below par, again this can be solved. This is a very disappointing display from the builder.
Yes very disappointing handling of the situation by Adrian. Pretty sure I'd be looking at alternative builders if Maruszczyk was on my list right now. If they can't guarantee their product can be sent to arrive without flaws, then don't distance sell!
Yeah I found that the amps are all really gain heavy and sound a lot better to my ears with less bite. You can reduce the bias too on the valve amps for a sweeter tone.
Interesting, I could definitely use one of these for my Stomp, thanks for the info! I wonder if there are any which have LED switches similar to the switches on the Stomp. Maybe these would require power however.
Yeah it's the crash on the 4 before the drums come that make it sound even weirder, but it's simply 4/4 with the beat inverted. The tempo is a different matter, it's a bit loose, certainly no click track on that session.
It is a sign of bad design or construction. In a perfect world they would all line up perfectly. Who doesn't want a perfect bass for £2100, when Squier basses have perfect alignment?
La Bella 760FLs are my P Bass string of choice
43 - 104 flatwound
Tension slightly less than an equivalent gauge roundwound but not as floppy as TI Jazz Flats.
A huge bug bear of mine, personally. Surely if the strings aren't aligned perfectly, this makes a difference in how they vibrate in the magnetic field - e.g. a string directly over a pole piece will vibrate differently than a string centred between two pole pieces due to different magnetic properties applying in each example. I've always admired Sadowsky for their consistency in alignment
Anyone else having issues with the new 2.92 update? HX Edit isn't finding my device and when it does, it crashes when I click on a patch. Very frustrating!
Hey all
Simple really - do you use a compressor for your live gigs, either in pedal format or as part of a preamp on an amplifier etc?
I get the theory behind it but I’ve never felt I needed one.
Looking forward to your responses
