Ive used some expensive basses at gigs but never got the good comments I got when I used a cheap violin bass copy. Also had stress-free nights not worrying about good gear getting damaged or nicked.

What kind of spray paint did you use from B&Q? Also, what type od sandpaper do you use to even the prime coat and later the paint coat?

What will the tuning range be?

Very nice. I have a gold guard on my 57RI and there's one available on here somewhere.

Ive met Derek Forbes and talked to him about his P-basses. He liked to use ones from the late 70's so prob had them from new. Also used a fretless one around New Gold Dream and beyond. I played support to the Minds back in the 90's on a UK tour and Foster was the bassist and another top bloke.

My 1999 Thumb bass has a dull finish. I use lemon oil but the shine doesnt last.

Cool rare lefty Ibanez Musician on ebay at moment. Im way too small for one of those though.

I don't play either my jazz or p bass with their covers on but if I was selling, I think they look the business in photos.

Only played a Wal once around 20 years ago. Was a 2nd-hand MkI fretless in a guitar shop. Best sounding bass I have ever played. Couldn't afford it at the time, never mind a new one now.

Funny, as I have DR rounds on my P and Fender flats on my J. I like the dynamic range of my 57RI P with its bright-sounding maple neck which keeps its definition when I roll off the tone using the rounds. I like my 62RI Jazz to sound like it does on Jaco's Donna Lee and I use flats with the tone rolled off for that sound playing on the bridge pickup. I think I prefer rounds on my P as its a bit of a slapper too, like me :-)

Im sure if Herbie started playing another bass exclusively that too in thirty years would be widely talked about. In the end its just a piece of wood. I for instance once found an old Fender Precision with 'Funk Machine' carved on the back.....:-)

If you get it working try selling it on here first on the lefty sale forum as you wont be hit with 10% fees.

A gold pickguard on black would be a cool look. Just ask the Bass Doc. He makes a mean guard.

Eden Footswitchhis is the right forum. Anyway, I recently acquired an Eden WTX-264 amp. I tried using a single latching footswitch with it but it stayed permanently on mute. I bought an Eden 2 button footswitch with mute and enhance/bypass but although its led's are working it has no effect on the amp. Does anyone know if this is a common problem or am I using the wrong footswitch? Info from Eden website doesn't explain if optional footswitch has compatibility issues.
