  1. "Hey, traded the pink Fender for this. Good innit?"
  2. Hi Yves! Lots to read here (Also lots to spend money on... beware the For Sale section. I spend far too much time there!)
  3. Looks like WW1 German aircraft lozenge camo.
  4. "... a great idea for a project ... " The undamaged thing was bad enough.
  5. Dag nabbit... Cash flow does not permit. Bah, humbug. Good lluck with your sale
  6. I ran across this by accident. (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.) The guitarists are excessive. The rest of it, bonkers, probably in a good way.
  7. The power of Mordor is growing, young Frodo...
  8. Nice headstock refin - quite invisible.
  9. Also, doesn't require soldering
  10. Anyone worried about the poorly-filled hole on the front could just fit a DFA switch - good for answering complaints about volume, tone etc.
  11. I agree. But I'm not the person who wrote the text you attribute to me. That was gapiro, here:
  12. Ahh, so that's where part 2 went! I was confused, I don't usually poke about in here
  13. Dave sold me his Vintage fretless. Nice guy, nice chat, nice bass. Despite my shoddy navigation, it was time well spent. I'd be very happy to trade with him again. Cheers Dave
  14. 'With The Beatles'.
  15. At least it's not going to have neck-dive issues
  16. Any Morphine fans out there? This would be handy for that sort of thing. (I'm quite annoyed it's taken me this long to work that out.)
  17. That's interesting. I only spent five years doing it.
  18. A quick search gives £175 plus VAT, one day; plus the cost of the test equipment. Completing it successfully would provide a certificate of competence. I have no idea how representative that cost is. Not going to happen for most amateur bands, I guess.
  19. Understood. It's a long time since I did it; how much does it cost to get a tester's qualification nowadays? The course I did was a one-day one, organised by my employer. That seems as if it might be a way forward.
  20. IMO you can argue about the legalities of PAT testing as much as you like, but if your kit burns the venue down and someone gets seriously hurt then you are liable to wind up on the front page of the Daily Star. That is not the sort of publicity anyone needs.
  21. Are you sure? He hasn't moved the tuners AFAICT.
  22. To be fair to him, the Mazeti headstock does look like that. AFAICT he's only changed the electrics.
  23. Okay, thanks Marc. Sounds as if someone out there is missing a trick
  24. Interesting. Ever tried it with fretless?
