    I see that the string tree seems to be run right through the headstock to another on the back. That looks weird. Is it normal for basses of that age?

    The look is clever, the way it ties the body shape to the fan-frets and pup angle. But I don't like it; too angular and leaning too much on the visual. Looking good (whatever that means) is far too often a cover for poor function.

    Learn backwards. Learn the last part of a piece first; then the bit before it; and so on. That way you're always going from hard stuff to easy, and you don't fall into the trap of never getting to the end.
