  1. I tried a VM courtesy of @GrammeFridaywhen I bought a bass from him - lovely, but it’s a five string so not a fair representation of what I’d be playing.
  2. Yep, could probably get to those but it’d be a special trip as they’re not round the corner. If my lovely blue P bass sells then I’ll be taking a trip to BD to buy something they have in (unless it goes before mine sells) and could give the Sandbergs a go then.
  3. That’s quite a trek indeed. Might be able to swing by if I ever manage to get up to do the Glasgow trip that’s been on hold due to Covid (had accommodation booked and such). Yep, Brinsworth is in Rotherham so not far from here.
  4. Thanks, Dave, whereabouts are you?
  5. Perhaps this is a more obvious place to ask this question:
  6. P bass Special California Series. 2016 American Standard PJ (part of the Magnificent Seven releases of that year). I've owned both models. There were two of the latter up for sale here earlier in the year in quick succession. Lakland offer a J-width nut (1.5”) on their P basses. (I have one and it’s lovely.) There have been two of these for sale on here in the last year or so.
  7. Hi folks, just wondering if there’s anyone local to me who’d be willing to let me have a quick try of their 4-string Sandberg California V or T (under supervision of course) as there’s nowhere local to try them. I’m still doing a bit of research on neck dimensions for my Shuker build. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Black Friday special price: was £1150, now £1200. Hurry, this offer is only valid today!
  9. Moog Model D is now available on Mac as well as iOS.l and is brilliant. U-he Repro will get you classic Prophet 5 and Pro One, very highly regarded. Dexed is a free DX7 plugin (classic 80s stuff). There’s an even more highly regarded one: Plogue OPS7. Cherry audio do an incredible Memorymoog plugin by all accounts. You may want an Oberheim, CS-80, Jupiter 8, Juno 106, plug-ins too. Arturia and Cherry Audio do many of these. Usually these plugins will have presets which recreate the sounds where the original synths were used; they may be slightly obliquely named to avoid copyright issues but are usually easy to work out. Arturia had a Black Friday offer where buying a Keylab controller got you three free plugins. They usually have a bunch of deals at this time of the year.
  10. @GrammeFriday, just in case your funds allow…
  11. Indeed, I got a very lowball offer on FB for my P bass.
  12. This is silly money and a really good deal for the buyer.
  13. PM’d regarding a potential trade.
  14. What’s the nut width and fingerboard radius?
  15. D’oh, I meant 16”.
  16. Not at present. He did say it was nearly ready though. The JJ basses have a 16” radius, by the way.
  17. @hiram.k.hackenbacker I’ve just been out to Jon today and have seen your bass’s neck in person - it’s beautiful.
  18. Indeed it is. It’s growing on me more now the strings are breaking in a bit.
