  1. Exactly. The walkabout was great but wasn't as versatile as the handbox for me. Of course, YMMV.
  2. That's the one I bought. I run it into barefaced two 10 and it's brilliant, worth every banana! After a few years of revolving door amps I've still got this one, which says a lot. I sold my Mesa walkabout once I'd bought this.
  3. It is indeed a cracker and deserves a good home. Have a bump!
  4. We don't mike everything up so I use them as a sort of augmented earplug. I run the kick drum, bass and all 4 vocals through the desk so I can have a bit 'more me' in my ears to help me hit harmonies etc whilst keeping the beat and hearing the lead vocal properly. Cymbals etc get picked up through the drummer's headset mic and the guitar is usually loud enough without needing a boost, so it works for me.
  5. We have the 312 as tops that we run with a single 15" sub. Very happy with them. Haven't got much experience in comparison with what you have but they are absolutely fine for our usual pub and occasional slightly bigger gigs.
  6. Ewood Park! Yep, Jump The Shark technically become a stadium band when we trot out at Blues Bar, Blackburn Rovers on May 18th (one gig a month gives us quite a lead in time to our 'next' show).
  7. Hope not, we're back there in a couple of months. Looking forward to it.
  8. Paul bought a bass from me. Superb communications, no messing about or hassle, just a really smooth easy sale. Highly recommended. I had to ship the bass and he was very cool throughout the whole process. Cheers!
  9. Hi @Ruarl. It was my bass that needed a lift. Typically I got hold of a hard case and posted it yesterday! Thanks so much for your kind offer.
  10. Good God! 🙉
  11. If that's a two-10 you've got it sat on then I can confirm that you won't be disappointed.
  12. On hold pending the usual. I'm a little bit gutted! Feeler for my Maruszczyk Jake 5p in sunburst, tort & rosewood. Chambered body - weighs 3.5kg using the bathroom scales method. One of the lightest basses I've played, not just for a 5 string. Feels ridiculously light and balanced. 18mm string spacing. Delano p/j pickups with passive VVT controls. Great colour with grain on the body, matched headstock. Rosewood board with blocks & cream binding. Hipshot hardware, pretty sure the tuners are ultralights. Lovely low action. I've just specced this model up as closely as I can on the Maruszczyk configurator and it comes in at €2035. Excellent condition, one small cymbal related chip in the headstock (just to the right of the 'J' in Jake on the pic of the logo) New pushbike GAS means I'm looking at selling one of my two basses and the rest of the band prefer the tone of the active ray for 80s covers. Price is firm, I won't be gutted at all if it doesn't sell. Collection from Sale, South Manchester or I can meet within reasonable distance. I've got an old gigbag if you insist on shipping (UK only) but that would be at your own risk and extra expense. I'd MUCH prefer collection or meet up so you can try before you buy with no obligation. Cheers!
  13. Hi Jez, Sorry, I missed this on Tuesday. My band is called Jump The Shark. We're back in Tod on June 8th.
  14. My mate Al does roller banners (Signs by Alyerpal on Facebook). He did ours and the kick drum skin.
  15. If the GAS for a new bike increases then I'll be in touch!
  16. Very much enjoy playing my Maruszczyk Jake 5p/j. Chambered body so it weighs less than a duck, lovely shallow neck and low action. Sounds great too. I've just got a new stingray and it's usually one in one out for me but I can't quite bring myself to list it.
  17. He is. Talking to him last night they had two full range PA speakers waiting to be wired up so next time he just wants us to bring our desk which will save loads of room and make my life a lot easier. A lot of the clutter had been tidied/organised to the rear of the stage, which was miles better than our previous gig there. Plug sockets all round the stage and built in lighting too. Oh, and the crowd were great as always. I'm usually anxious about January gigs as I've ended up playing to two bored barmaids and a passing cat before, but they turned out in force and were up for a party. As Blue said, I'll overlook a lot for that.
  18. Turns out Todmorden doesn't do dry January. Great crowd and really fun place to play. I had one of those nights and dropped a few more clangers than average but the feedback was that the sound was great, so the new pink stringed Stingray is doing the job very nicely.
  19. Talent is a curse isn't it mate
  20. Looks & sounds great Les. How many Shelby bookings are you getting compared to the Troubadour-ing?
  21. Bloody hell. Been checking for one of these all week and the moment I don't.......
  22. We're called Jump The Shark (a TV reference for a show that is past its prime and has to rely on desperate gimmicks to get attention - thought it suited us well!). Based in South Manchester too. Facebook.com/jumpthesharkband I've heard of you guys as well, is Tony your singer?
  23. Cheers buddy, I've been working hard on my bass face! Glad the ray sounded good out in the room too, never easy to tell when you're up close with earplugs in.
