  1. Bump for Peggy, my biggest influence and a thoroughly decent chap. I’d also like to nominate Mick for Basschat librarian/archivist.
  2. It always seemed counterintuitive to cut the bass, because that’s our job. I’ve had some success, however, rolling off the bass on my instrument’s EQ and boosting lower mids 200-450/500 Hz by a gnat’s crotchet for punch. If you can boost the gain on your mids and sweep the frequency at a rehearsal or soundcheck, you might find it’s like a focus ring on your camera, so to speak. Your mileage may vary, of course…
  3. “3-band EQ with sweepable kids” sounds very handy. Can it do, say, a toddler and two sullen teenagers?
  4. “If this was a four string/ how much does it weigh?…” annoying bump.
  5. Rock biography from Mick. No hassles, quick, as described and all spectacular.
  6. Bought a bridge from John. Nice and easy, no hassles.
  7. I don’t know about you, but I’m enjoying the descriptions as much as the fascinating collection…
  8. Purchased a set of power slinkies, just the job with no hassles. Top chap, credit to the forum.
  9. Bought an Octaver. Just the job, no hassles 👍
  10. Same again, too chap
  11. Shame, if this was an Alan Moore I’d have had it…
  12. Too chap, swift and efficient and a right bargain.
  13. Like the engine in my Dad’s Ford Anglia; pop it open and you could walk around inside… bump
  14. Bought a tuner from Stealth. All good, bargain, credit to the forum 🤘
  15. Loved the sound of my East, but chopped it for the same reason as you.
  16. PM’d
  17. You want effects, mate. Next door…
  18. Gorgeous refin, good job. I had a fretted/fretless pair with a short strap, espadrilles and a mullet in about 85-86.
