  1. Me too! Better than any soap on telly, this. Hope everything turns out OK in the end, Andy.
  2. Joe Strummer played the same battered 66 Tele for most of his career.
  3. You Shook Me All Night Long. Now I'm paralysed from the neck down, you a-hole!

  5. Can't bloody stand the original but I like this...
  6. 01 Ever played a gig sitting down? Not a whole gig - one band I was in fell into the habit of doing a few acoustic numbers halfway through the set a la Led Zeppelin and we sat down for that bit. 02 Ever gigged on a different instrument? Yes, played guitar in the aforementioned acoustic bit. Also played guitar in a punk band for a while. 03 Ever shared a stage with a musical hero of yours? Not that I'm particularly interested in meeting any of them (the few that are still alive) but I very much doubt any of them would be seen dead in the dumps I played in. 04 Any fan ever had a tatoo of your band's logo? What are these "fans" of which you speak? 05 Ever signed an autograph in a dressing room? No. 06 Ever cried on stage? I haven't half felt like doing so on a couple of occasions. 07 Ever worn a hat on stage? Tragically yes, once. I really don't suit a hat but I decided to wear some bloody awful cowboy hat at my first ever gig. This despite the rest of the band pleading with me not to. I looked like a prize pillock and I discarded it after a song or two. I'm always jealous of fellows who can really rock a hat. 08 Ever gigged with a band you hadn't met before the gig? No, but it may have sounded as though that was the case. 09 Ever been in a relationship with a fellow band member? No. 10 Ever played in different bands on the same day? I've always been a "one bunch of twits at a time" kind of guy. 11 Ever had anything thrown at you while playing? Amazingly, no. Apart from a few insults. 12 Ever crashed on the way to the gig? No 13 Ever left a band over the choice of set list? Choice of material has only once been an issue but it was more to do with the BL being a twunt. 14 Ever slept in the venue despite it not being a hotel? No. 15 Ever been supported by a band clearly better than you? Having played pretty much exclusively in originals bands, I've been on bills with many bands - some good, some bad, some unspeakable - but I don't recall ever being blown away by any of them or wishing I was in that band rather than the one I was in. 16 Ever played a gig suffering from some debilitating medical condition? Only extreme drunkenness and then only once. 17 Ever been in a band where the guitarist was your favourite bandmate? Once or twice, usually the same guy. He's my oldest friend. We've known each other since we were 7. 18 Ever played in the grounds of a stately home? I doubt if they'd let me through the gate. 19 Ever injured yourself on stage? Only my pride. 20 Ever been told that your bass isn't loud enough? Good Lord, no!
  7. Ibanez Artist from the 70s. No idea if they're any good but they look cool.
  8. First Concert - Donnington Festival 1991 - Black Crowes, Queensryche, Motley Crue, Metallica, AC/DC Last Concert - I can't really remember. I don't go out to gigs much these days. I'm officially an Old Fart. Best Concert: David Bowie Birmingham 2003 - so glad I managed to see him and he didn't disappoint. Worst Concert - The Darkness Birmingham 2004 - Justin was off his face on coke and you could tell the wheels were about to come off. The crowd weren't into it at all. The only saving grace was support band Ash. Loudest Concert - My Bloody Valentine Manchester 2008 - they were giving out earplugs at the entrance. Some people were being sick in the toilets during the 'Holocaust' section of You Made Me Realise. I stayed for the whole thing and had ringing in my ears for days afterwards despite using the earplugs. Seen the most: I've usually only ever seen any band once but I've seen the Manic Street Preachers a couple of times as my wife is a big fan (I like them too but not as much). Most Surprising - Jane's Addiction blew me away when I saw them in Wolverhampton in 2003 and Jarvis Cocker was a hoot at Manchester in 2007 - he closed with a cover of Magazine's Shot By Both Sides. Also, John Cale in front of a couple hundred people at a tiny venue in Stoke 2006. Next Concert - nowt planned. Wish I'd Seen - I could fill a book, mate. But, sticking to gigs I actively had the opportunity to see. Had tickets to see The Fall in Liverpool 2007-ish but couldn't go because of transport problems. Nirvana - had tickets to see them at the Aston Villa Leisure Centre in 1994. Never happened, of course...
  9. "Oh, and Jenkins? Apparently, your mother died this morning."
  10. Litter Tray Sod This Foxtrot Oscar Soiled Nappy Tasty Afterbirth Sorry, my Tourette's is playing up this morning.
  11. The OP's guitarist is Ritchie Blackmore and I claim my five pounds.
  12. I didn't say it was OK, did I? I've been in the same situation as the OP and it hurts. There's no way I'd do the gig and would definitely screw them over in some way. They deserve no less.
