  1. A quirky gig last night.... My Wife & I went and saw the fantastic 'El Pony Pisador'. Impossible to describe but their wiki gets pretty close: "El Pony Pisador is a musical group from Barcelona that mixes various styles of folk and traditional music from around the world, including Celtic music, sea songs, bluegrass, tarantella and yodel." Great fun! We discovered them at Cropredy Festival in the Summer and loved them. Last night was in a tiny village hall near Chichester...
  2. I've got my tkt for that too... 👍
  3. I've e-mailed my contact at GK's European distributor and waiting on a reply....
  4. Please see extensive update re: Sunday at the 1st post on Page 1 :
  5. At that price and period of time, it sounds like it would have been a US Made Spector NS bass. The US custom shop made many variations on the theme of the NS shape, with different woods, finishes, fingerboards etc and in 4,5 and 6 string versions.
  6. Ah, so tone ISN'T in his fingers
  7. Off to the album launch for 'Perfect Beasts' this Friday night at The Butler in Reading with @Hamster. They're a new Prog Rock band featuring Darren Redick (Basschat member/Planet Rock DJ) on bass/vocals and John Mitchell (Asia etc) on keys/vocals.... Was supposed to be a live show as well but John has had a fall and is now unable to perform this Friday.
  8. Bet that sounds HUGE!
  9. I would say the increase in people chatting throughout shows is more to do with a decline in manners and respect, enabled by social media. After all, people seem to feel like they can do or say anything these days and there will be little/no consequences..... despite always protesting "Cor, you can't say nuffink in this cuntry anymore.... you get locked up for freeze peach!"
  10. Congrats! Still have mine and I love it.... Best bang for the buck bass cab out there imho.
  11. Nooooiiiiiiiiiiice!!!!
  12. GKWTS and Welcome to the Spector family. Looks like you're coming home to the original... 👍🎸😎
  13. An update for those interested in these basses. I've just spoken to my contact at Korg and he's asked me to let you all know that there is limited stock from the first production run of the Icon series basses coming in to Andertons, GuitarGuitar, @Bass Direct and one or two other UK/Eire stockists (inc X music in Dublin) in the next couple of weeks. If you definitely want one - you should make contact asap with one of these shops and get yours reserved! The main bulk of deliveries of the new Icon range will arrive early in the New Year and you will see many more of them available then, along with a proper promotional push. Regarding some other questions that were asked here and on Facebook groups: Apparently there are still more Pulse II basses on order and should be arriving soon. To the best of my contact's knowledge they have not ceased production of this model or the Ethos at this stage. There are no confirmed plans for a through neck version of the Icon yet. All production is concentrating on this new bolt on range for now. For those asking about left handed Icons.... there may well be some in the next production run but nothing confirmed yet.
  14. Of course. It depends if you SERIOUSLY believed the 1st shows announced would be the ONLY shows. I didn't....
  15. Why silly? This is obviously gonna be an expanding tour, with Europe to follow....
  16. Saw Level 42 & Roachford last night at Watford Coliseum! Fantastic night, great sound and audience response.... and both bands were excellent 👍
  17. For sure. May sell my Digitech Drop now though...
  18. Got my XS-1 yesterday. It's good, but not astounding, but then I think that's just the nature of these pitch shift pedals.... It does a reasonable job up to about a tone/tone and a half detuned then the artificial sound becomes too overbearing for my taste. I also have the Digitech Drop and that's as bad/worse. Under layers of distorted guitars it probably wouldn't be noticeable but solo'd it becomes a distraction imho. Advantages of this pedal (beyond tuning down with a good sound to C#/D) are the extra ability to tune up/add higher notes, the octaver and the 'secret' chorus setting.
  19. The 2 x Paul's (@NancyJohnson & @prowla) and I convened for a lovely curry last night..... and, as Nancy says... it was indeed a windy night Just had confirmation that Chris Childs (Thunder etc) will be a special guest and will do a Q&A, short career chat and demo at around 2pm on the day. We're also working on another guest or two (subject to their availability) as well as some fun stuff...
  20. Yep, Vanessa Warwick. She was married to Ricky Warwick of The Almighty at the time.
  21. Can I get an "Amen"?!
  22. That's Claudia Winkelman.... and I claim my £5!
