  1. Does anyone who owns one of these have an idea of the weight of them?
  2. My first Stingray was Teal and it's still one of my favourite finishes. Stunning bass 👍
  3. For sale is a lovely Roland FA08 Music 88 weighted key Workstation/Stage Piano/Synth. It's in excellent overall condition apart from a few grazes (pictured) and comes with a stand and seat. I bought this for a project which hasn't about unfortunately band intended to use it mainly for a stage piano but it does way more than that. This is still part of Roland's current product line and sells new for around £1,500. I'm looking for £720 picked up from near Monmouth but am happy to meet within an hour's drive to hand it over. There is no case with it. Specs: This 88-note flagship music Workstation from Roland can be used effectively for use in both the studio and within your live-playing environments, squashing the age-old dilemma of having an instrument that can only be used to its full potental in either of the two scenarios. The built-in audio interface and DAW integration will certianly attract an audience from within the studio scene, while the 88-note pro-quality weighted-action keyboard and 16kg weight will give the live-playing. Huge Range of Sounds The FA-08 provides you with a massive variety sounds which have been taken from the popular Integra-7 module and span the entire musical spectrum. Each of the 16 parts has its own, individual effects engine, boasting 67 effect types, on top of dedicated processors for drums, EQ, chorus and reverb. What's more, you can access the Axial website, which features even more wide ranging sounds, split into various genres. Powerful Idea Creating Workstation The FA-08 features a powerful sampler and easy-to-use sequencer, giving you everything you could possibly need to begin creating music whether you're tucked up in your studio or you're out playing on the road. This is a great way of generating ideas away from your main studio. Then once you're ready to convert it into a full track, either finish it of from the FA08 itself or easily transport all the separate stems and information via an SD card into your DAW of choice. Reviews (The FA-08) "provides stiff competition for the Yamaha MOXF8, and even gives Korg's Krome 88 a damn good run for its money. Clearly, Roland have come up with a unique package of features for a rather attractive price." Sound on Sound "Excellent sounds in every category. Informative, easy-to-read display with bright, crisp graphics. User interface is not intimidating for novices." "A ton of power and sonic flexibility packed into an affordable, easy to operate, lightweight instrument." Keyboard Magazine Here's what Roland say about the FA-08 Music Workstation: The 88-note flagship workstation for studio and live use - If you use a workstation to make music, you’ll recognise the dilemma. Studio keyboards don’t cut it live, and live keyboards don’t get on with studio gear, so each instrument solves only half of your problems. The new FA-08 workstation makes the problems disappear; studio heads will love the built-in audio interface and DAW integration, and live players will appreciate the 88-note pro-quality weighted-action keyboard and 16kg weight. And whichever camp you’re in, you’ll definitely love the huge collection of sounds, taken from the popular Integra-7 module and spanning the entire musical spectrum. Each of the 16 parts has its own effects engine, each with 67 effect types, on top of dedicated processors for drums, EQ, chorus and reverb. Add a powerful sampler and easy to use sequencer and you’ve got all the tools of the trade - ready to make music wherever you are. Key Features: Reimagined music workstation designed to maximise your creative flow 88-note Ivory Feel-G Keyboard provides premium weighted-action performance in a lightweight design that’s easy to transport Over 2000 sounds from the flagship INTEGRA-7 sound module, including SuperNATURAL synth and acoustic tones and drums; add even more tones via internal wave sound expansion slots SuperNATURAL synth engine is fully compatible with the expansive collection of free INTEGRA-7 synth tones available from Roland’s Axial sound library site 16-track sequencer with non-stop loop recording makes it easy to build songs quickly; export your sequencer tracks to an SDHC card as a complete stereo mix, or as multitrack audio or MIDI data for use in your DAW Onboard sampler based on the SP-404SX features 16 pads x 4 banks and direct recording/playback via SDHC cards Polish your sounds with a multitude of studio-quality effects, including 16 independent MFX engines, six COMP+EQ processors for drums, unique TFX (total effects), and global EQ, chorus, and reverb Tweak tones, effects, and external MIDI devices in real time with six user-assignable Sound Modify knobs Intuitive, streamlined interface with large colour LCD Press one button to instantly configure the FA-08 for use with your DAW via USB D-Beam, Rhythm Pattern, Arpeggiator, and Chord Memory functions to expand your creative palette Guitar/Mic and Line input jacks for performing, sampling, and DAW audio recording; dedicated input reverb provides ambience for performing/recording USB ports for sound expansion data, updates, and audio/MIDI interfacing with a computer; MIDI communication with the iPad is possible when using Apple’s iPad Camera Connection Kit
  4. I didn't try them but saw them there. They're definitely a metallic orange colour and they would've been my preferred colour but I really couldn't justify paying nearly £1,000 more for a Masterpiece aged version over the one I went for.
  5. Well I'm back in the Sandberg Gang and I'm loving it. I've recently had a cull of all basses over 9 1/2 lbs due to back/hip issues and was looking for something that would do lots of different sounds and was light enough for me to gig with comfortably. After spotting this at Bass Direct I went up to try it and took it home. It's a California II VT in an aged Gold finish with ebony board and blocks. It sounds amazing with the Delanos and the switching between active and passive has really no discernible change in overall volume. The slightly smaller newer body which I at first wasn't sure about is super comfortable and the overall weight is 8lbs 2oz. I'm really very pleased with it.
  6. A bit of a walk of shame 😩. Good job I can't remember how many of each brand.... Some glaring omissions such as Peaveys, Spectors and Yamahas amongst others. Aria Charvel Danelectro Dingwall Epiphone Fender G&L Gibson Guild Hofner Hohner Ibanez Italia Jackson Kramer Lakland Mike Lull Music Man Rickenbacker Sadowsky Sandberg Shaftesbury Shuker Sire Squier Status Warwick Westone
  7. For sale is my 2021 Rickenbacker 4003S in Mapleglo. It has a beautiful unfinished Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard and the new style Rickenbacker bridge. It's weighs in at 9lbs 9oz and comes with the original case and all accessories. It's in immaculate condition and currently set up with TI Flats and I have a set of TI round wounds I'll supply too. It's currently fitted with a black aftermarket pickguard (from Rickysounds) and a black Rickenbacker trussrod cover but I have the original white ones too. It also has the treble bezel surround fitted that makes it more comfortable for finger style playing but the original cover is included too. I also bought a set of original vintage style Rickenbacker knobs from Rickysounds as this came fitted with the more modern Jazz Bass style. Both sets will be supplied also. I'm looking for £1,850 posted insured. No trades please. I'll put more pics up shortly.
  8. Lawrence bought my Stingray and I had the pleasure of meeting up with him for yet another dodgy Service Station handover. A top guy and highly recommended.
  9. Thanks chaps 😊 Mick- I think the transitional models were a few years before this one. As far as I'm aware this is a full-fat Ernie Ball
  10. As there hasn't been much firm interest on my 77 P Bass I thought I'd put this up for sale. It's my 1996 Music Man 2EQ Stingray in Cherryburst with a beautiful maple neck. It weighs in at 8lbs 7oz so it's a lovely comfortable weight. It sounds amazing too. There are signs of use but it's very clean and the neck is lovely and has matured nicely. It's currently strung with nickel round wounds and plays beautifully. Theres no original case but him happy to post it in a generic hard case to keep it safe. It comes with the original Pearloid pickguard and an after market black one. I'm looking for £1,200 posted insured. No trades please.
  11. Not sure about this one but I have two other P Basses I use more, so I'd see whether this is if interest to anyone. It's a 1977/78 Fender P Bass in black with maple fingerboard/neck. It has been well-used and is all original apart from the pots that were changed a while ago. It doesn't come with a case (although I can supply one for shipping purposes) or the ashtrays. It weighs in at a very comfortable 9lbs 7oz and is strung with a new set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky Nickel rounds with a nice low action. It has a number of marks on it as you'd expect for the age but plays beautifully and sounds great. That said, there's nothing that affects playability and all the frets are in good condition. I'm looking for £2,300 for it and although I'd be happy to post insured for cost, I'd rather it was handed over near Monmouth or within an hour's drive. I'm not looking for trades thanks.
  12. A gig of two halves last night. We were booked to play in deepest darkest Forest of Dean with an 8.30 start. We duly turned up and set up in record time, sound checked and then hung around ready to start. 8.30 came and went and we decided to push it back by 30 minutes as there was basically five people in the bar. We started at 9pm and I don't think the crowd got above 8 people, including the singer's parents. After a short break we started the second set around 10.30 and after the first song the place was rammed and the atmosphere was brilliant. For the first time ever (probably the only time) we actually had a punter give us some money out of his own pocket as a thank you for (his words) "a joyful night" 😊 I got to gig my 72 Jazz for the first time and it was a joy to play. That's us done for 2022 now but it was a great way to see the year out.
