1. Just looked at the link,no! Halogens are only really for human/living occupants designed to heat people/animals rather than air, they were first used for drying horses where you cant heat an open stable. It needs to be something like a storage heater as discreet says or maybe an oil filled radiator left on low then turned up when anyones uses the room.
2. Can you get any insulation in anywhere?
3. Most ebs fans will tell you that without ebs cabs and their super sharp tweeters you are Fighting a losing battle. Which other two ohm heads did you compare it to?
4.
My EBMM SUB5 had an alnico pickup, wired in parallel.
That sounds familiar from an old thread now Jose, did we ever work out where they took the pickup from or did we decide it was made just for the SUB? So confusing! What do you think about a series parallel switch?
5. I have had trouble with jazz pickups and the cancellation thing between jazz pickups causes me more trouble than the weak G thing. I know some basses have a reversed p pickup I presume its related to even output so thats problems with the three most popular basses and as for Rickenbackers.......
6. Thats how I felt, all neat and in order, just a choice of colour for me these days
7. Yeah I think so, im sure someone in the repairs and technical could make you a diagram, might even be a similar thread. You could add a single coil option but you will get some hum without the phantom coil the full on usa versions have.
8. Time to have a peek inside at the pickup and preamp on both basses imo, I would get a push pull pot fitted for series parallel on the usa bass.
9. I think you are going to understand why everyone was baffled by how much low you were adding! Some people sold there streamliners because they were too bassy even though turning the lows down would have solved it years of putting the knobs at 12 oclock meant they would not cut the lows.
10. It must be a totally different preamp to the usa 2 bands then.
11.
maybe a bit like this ? http://youtu.be/AI2k6aseNqg
That sounds ace, shame about the camera work.
12. Am I right in thinking neither of them have selector switches too? So we dont know if either of them of wired in series rather than parallel, wheres mcnach and his soldering iron when you need him?
13. Im going to have a stab in the dark here and say the usa will have a ceramic pickup like a standard usa Ray of the same era where the indonesian one probably has an alnico one previously only possible by buying either an early ray five (80's and early 90's) or like my blue 2010 one with the alnico coming in around 2007 even though my black 2007 is a last of the line ceramic version but with the newer switch/battery box position etc. So to get the full pre eb sound from the usa sub you should put the indonesian pickup in it although its probably not the same as a usa pickup, confused yet? Lol
14. I have been practicing Jake, sounding better already, im amazed! Even the bow is sounding less like cats fighting
15.
It seems like I'm going to have to get a new rig. I play (at the minute) in a kinda alternative rockish band and use primarily sandberg basses (Electra TT, California TM and a Basic VM). What would you guys recommend as a rig based on the GB stuff on offer at the min? we aren't playing gigs yet (but will be soon) and as with all things, I wonder how flexible the gear will be for the future. I'm leaning towards a shuttle 9.2 with a Neo 212T....I want a more "modern sound" but with plenty of flexibility, sound like a good idea?
Thats all very similar to what I do and with a similar setup, albeit a max head but it should work well.
16. Ive gigged a 650 with 4 2x10 cabs, I cant imagine a situation where the word underpowered could be used!
17.
I have a 2011 2 band classic with a maple board. It is an exquisite bass. Light, resonant and sounds fantastic. I've been round the block a couple of time with Rays and this is the best one. The neck profile (pre EB) is stunning. An amazing bass!
As much as I loved my pre eb stingrays the overall fit and finish on the classic series is the best I have seen on any musicman bass, one of the best regardless of make actually.
18. Has someone messed with it do you think, was it bought new or used? Sounds like someone has disconnected the tweeter and possibly loosened the speaker wire.
19. Aha, I knew something was wrong! If I had spotted this earlier I could have helped by checking inside mine for you, can you not see the spade connector with no wire in it where it came from or does it look to have been doubled up with another wire and just broke off? Id presume it would be on the same connector as the matching terminal of the working driver as the cab is wired in parallel I think but I have never looked inside, sorry. Plus point is you are going to be more than happy once its sorted!!
20. Nick of "Nick's guitars" uses that combination in a country band I think? Might be worth looking down that avenue.
21. Thats really cool!
22. I think he sounds best on a Modulus live, I wasnt a fan of his Jazz bass era and I presume neither was he as it was quite short and returned to the Modulus even though he had parted company with them so he must really dig them, I still want one in sparkly silver, 5 string natch
23.
oh my. why cant you guys just say. yeah Andrew i like the playing and enjoyed it, or no Andrew i dont like it and your a twat. ?
No Andrew I dont like it and *your a twat. *You're
24.
Fill in the gaps in your double bass made by the lighting rig?
I use a Laminate floor repair pen to hide the rawness of the now exposed wood but It pissed me off all that night
