Thats cruel Pete. I bet you will be busy wiring up Turkey sheds then. On a serious note, thanks for the description, I was truly baffled.
The farmer showed me last time which cow he is having for xmas dinner! On a serious note how baffled will the thai bloke be when he sees it, we havent labelled them as there was no point!
Interesting they get that built in the uk?
Thats business now I guess, there were no plans or anything but I copied a similar setup from the uk factory's test area. To complicate it more the guy opening this franchise is a german that was working in sweden but came here to learn how to build up the dishwashers and test them, he is going to show the new thai employees how to do it over there with parts shipped in from china! At least its not a doom and gloom story as they are going to be building these new machines instead.
This bass retired my Wal, Stingray 5 and Fender about 10 mins after I brought it, nearly 9 years ago.
Have you still got this Chris? I have decided its the only bass that could sway me now, in that colour too!
What is it ?
The company make commercial dishwashers, they are opening a small factory in thailand to build there smaller units to free up the guys here to build a new version just coming into full production designed for huge hotels and cruise ships etc. It will be mounted on the wall in the test bay to power newly built machines as they undergo the final test before shipping. It will trip out under all conditions if their is a fault and they can check the volts/amps as the machine goes through it cycle. I'm wiring up some cow sheds next week then an mot centre the week after hopefully finishing a full house renovation before christmas so as much as I hate my job at least its varied!

I thought it might be worth showing you what I have built at work this week? started with a blank box last thursday, all tested and being shipped to Thailand tomorrow. All the parts got sent to me day by day or I would have laid the sockets out better and they were built in about half the time needed really.

My old cab is still mint even with rat fur, I actually prefer rat fur.
Is this even a clear cut fight? A lot of the newer micro amps will have some kind of processing to make them sound louder, a certain Eq here, a bit of compression here, a low end roll off there, or even full on DSP to squeeze as much power out of it as you can (TC RH I'm looking at you!) Not to say that that isn't a good thing in an amp but it does mean you're not comparing like for like. StingrayPete1977 mentioned his Shuttle 3.0 - which is a nice little amp - but the EBS will be putting out low end that the Shuttle is filtering out.... loudness alone is not a fair comparison
thing is I still filter out those frequencies when usin my 6.0 or even the 9.2max heads, I think the minimum they can put out is 37hz anything lower is the mush that people think they want when trying it at home or in the shop, if you really do need that live with volume forget most of the gear most of us have

It want that long ago that loads of bands had a Peavey 1x15 TNT combo of about 120 -150 Watts was it?
-
Parafin heaters or calor gas things give off moisture, lots of it!
-
My shuttle 3.0 can power my 4 ohm 2x12 cab enough for any gig so the 6.0 and 9.2 are purely luxurys really.

Like many double basses the back and sides of mine are plywood although I did decide to splurge a few extra quid for a solid carved spruce front, its the prettiest plywood I have ever seen though so I doubt it came out of a rack at b and q
Me neither, I knew better...but I still did I'm awaiting a ShuttleMax12.2 and one NX2 212T cab from GAK and one NX2 212T cab and the shuttle bag thingy from Bass Direct.... oh and a cover from roqsolid (I'll order another if the GAK cab actually turns up) Got the speakons from obbm on here already though good old BC It'll be a miracle if this all works out...
It's gonna be an epic rig! I have said before they should have made an 18.2 version giving 900 watts at four ohms each and maybe a range of 8 ohm cabs so you could of had four 2x12 cabs and 1800 Watts with a choice of valve or fet! A fairly easy way to of wiped out the competition but it was not to be

I had a Kay sg with the pickups screwed onto the top basically like Doms prototype, it had a big sound.
-
I think you could screw a musicman neck to a square sheet of ply then as long as you put the preamp and humbucker on it with the correct scale length and pickup placement it would sound just like a stingray? The body edges would be more like a Ricky granted

Well I heard you play and I've heard me play,I think I know which person is doing it properly! I had the bow going quite well for about fifteen minutes non stop when I returned it had gone off again so I'm going to try again later -
That doesnt sound like a very fair test to me, three amps at 500 watt compared to a head putting out only 350 watt.
