1. You have no worries mate, most fifteen year Olds speak in text speak over here now anyway.
2. In fact I wish my English was as good as your English
3.
Thanks, Pete! It helps. I now understand that "satin" just means "satin", and is not one specific guitar neck treatment. We have the word in Dutch in the same meaning as your explanation.
I'm learning Spanish,I wish my Spanish was as good as your English!
4. What is one worth with a straight neck? £100 would be worth it I'd say as a project, maybe it could be steamed and reset, then fret dressed I dont know plus they can just keep turning so it might come back fairly quick.
5. I have been trying to use my bow more often, im getting a bit of a feel for the tension and rosin application and Jake has got me holding a french bow quite well in a very short amount of time we spent on it ages ago. I see lots of players tilting the bow over for up and down strokes, is this good, bad, pointless or spot on? If so which way should I tilt? Thanks
6. I've read that KOL dont use a click track or any metering at all which gives it 'that feeling', it also makes doing covers a bit of a feel thing ime. Some nice transcriptions there too, I will be back
7. If it was a bolt on maybe but I cant see the parts being 200 quids worth of use?
8. Ha, it would only have driven me mad trying to find the name again! "Romberg bevel, romberg bevel, romberg bevel".
9. I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole! Get your cash back and run away.
10. Can we see the listing? I can't find it as a completed sale but I am on android tablet which isnt the best for ebay.
11. Certainly if they ask nicely
12. Yes the torzoidal ones, its not far off is it!
13. Jeez! Whats with all the windings on the string posts, are they to try and pull the neck back?
14.
If its a pay to play gig, he can hire it for £25 per band... At the very least make sure he knows he pays if its damaged.
Or tell him you have some "bass amp loan tickets", you post 25 of them to him 3 days before the gig for him to sell to friends and family for £5 each on the understanding he pays you £5 for each one he ruturns to you unsold when you get there but he can keep £1 from each one he sells
15. Thats it, for some reason it's proper name won't go into my brain! Sloping bit under the E it is, lol
16. And some have a fingerboard that slopes away from the E string compared to the G string too.
17. Satin is sort of not glossy, or shiny but not dull or matte either, in the middle, im not sure if that helps or makes it worse.
18. Dont you just love a load of pissed up guests telling you how good there mate is and you should let them play! Embrace....sounds like you made the right choice
19. Our drummer has booked us for a holloween gig, the venue want us to sell tickets for £5 and we get half (I think as I wasnt listening fully), im happy to do the gig as its a big venue and he reckons he has 70 people from his work coming, that £58 each as a trio, its 30 miles away near his work. I have already made it clear I wont sell a single ticket. Oh well.
20.
I like the white. But walnut satin is the best in my opinion. mnach and stingraypete, lets have at look at your bass.
Front one is ern500evo's not mine, thats why I took the pic to send him. 21.
Yes, it's good to see the pics and great that you had good reviews
It looks like the sound guy managed to compress the electric drum kit so it was not as bad out front as it was in my monitor so maybe last night I was stressing too much. The drummer says he has found a loose connection on the snare but as you can see in the pics he ended up swapping the floor tom for the snare so I think he needs to check again! Almost like a clipping overload sound like he had turned something up too high imo.
22. The band setting up when I left had a big bass rig and sound before going into the pa, it sounded great but if they matched the rest of the band to that and put it to foh it will have been far too loud, on the other hand friday night I enjoyed playing more with my bigger amp as the main backline with just a bit of bass in the pa. I could hear the db quite well with it up there so that was ok.
23. Ta mate, tomorrow is another day, lol
24. Looks like we have a potential new Stagg bass owner?
