1. Well U2 are on the board at fender, Warwick knew there was thousands of spare bedrooms that belonged to wealthy men of a certain age that would look better with an AC bass hanging on the wall regardless of AC's or the buyers playing abilities, harsh? True?
2. I was trying to avoid saying older Roger I think blended with a full circle it would be awesome but I'm just enjoying feed back free gigs for now : D
3. Well I've got a Schaller as has Bassace (Roger, a wiser man than me), we both like them and people have fitted them without drilling using various contraptions. I've drilled mine though
4. You'll have to get into their click then, it's the only way.
5. Maybe a little extra neck shim required?
6.
Dead spot at the 17th fret on the D string, can't get the action decently low without fretbuzz and my setting up skills are not terrific. But hang on....I just saw the full range of colours in the Ray34....there's a blue I didn't know about.....
What you doing up there? I suppose it could have limitations with the neck, what's the truss rod like? Do they adjust like the ebmm ones?
7.
Can you still get a Ray 34 in Blue Sparkle? They were stunning. But, aren't they going to sound the same as what you have, or thereabouts?
I think other than the body shape and pickup placement the similarities end there, a preamp and pickup would get it sounding close though.
8.
There is a certain age, beyond which, it is embarrassing to play, in public, in a dodgy band. Find a better band, with better musicians.
I've felt like this and I'm nearing that age, the trouble is I think it might be me that makes the bands dodgy!
9. What is that you dont like about the setup currently? How good are your setting up skills?
10.
I also take issue when some rich bloke brings all his kids to the show to prove how cool his generation was. Blue
I thought you wanted these bands to be worshipped forever more though? The only way is to educate each new generation about the 60s bands. Some kids won't get it no doubt but some will get reaching for their guitars and drums etc after being inspired just as you were.
11. It's hard to know with only one side of the story, tbh though Helen's repair skills are well known and her knowledge about basses is far more than mine will ever be. Once you get into classical repairs part of the problem is that what we might deem adequate the next luthier to see your bass might ask "who the hell did that?!", what happens then is the owner tells them who it was without telling them they strongly advised against it and that it needed a new bridge, it's their reputation to work on hugely valuable basses in tatters for the sake of doing what they felt was a bit of a bodge.
12. Yes paramore have had quite a bit of main stream chart success and radio play, I'd imagine the biggest female fronted rock band of the last decade?
13. Kelly Clarkson-Since you been gone is a great tune and she can belt them out. Anything by Paramore should be top of your list, brick by boring brick, misery business to get you started (addicted ).
14.
I have Pete, nice but no other brand that I`ve tried - yet - can quite get that Roto sound. Elites I found to be quite close, as are DR Fat Beams and Dean Markley Blue Steels but Rotos still edge it for me. It just gets on my nerves that they die so quickly.
Suffering for your art
15. Better than nothing then
16. I can't get on with Roto strings, they just go dead too quickly, have you tried Elites Lozz?
17. Have you tried unplugging the instrument lead a few times? Mine does funny things when used on the battery, I find they eat batteries anyway so I almost always have it on mains.
18.
I don't like the Beatles and will avoid listening to them if at all possible. There's just something about them I don't like.
Nope, it's not even a proposition, you need to read the whole thread fully
19.
I don't see anyone denigrating the beatles on BC. Some will say "yeh, not my cup of tea"
For a fan (short for fanatical) this is not an acceptable or understandable stance to take. It's like a religion and it's fanaticals forcing their views on other people, it never ends well!
20. They get plenty of praise don't they, a film just out,cds and dvds galore a museum and tours, various fan sites and clubs etc etc etc What you are saying is you want even more and from everyone including people who for whatever reason aren't that fussed for them? You can have a sh*t in one hand and wish in the other, see what you are left with
21. I didn't see the driver (or pilot?), I'll keep an eye open for it around again to see if it's a man or a woman and see how old they are. The inside is like a shrine/museum too.
22.
Stop relying on others; they'll only let you down..! Take a screen shot and post that..!
Got it now! The yellow submarine

24. Nope it wants to tell you about the dodgy eBay seller that tried to con my brother with this triumph! What's wrong with it?!
