1. Caught most of it - brilliant stuff. When's the repeat?
 2.
Played a White 8-String Marathon in Music Ground in Manchester before it closed. I loved it, but it had an unworkable hump in the neck from the 3rd fret leading towards the headstock, suck a shame.
Pretty sure the same bass turned up at one of the Denmark St shops. The price sounds familiar. Interesting what you say about the neck, as my 8-string Shergold had something similar, and according to the chap who fixed it, it wasn't uncommon for Shergold/Hayman/Burns basses of the era. There was a batch of wood that was used before it had dried properly, and the fingerboards (or necks) carried on drying once construction was complete, resulting in some unusal neck distortions. Mine had a more pronounced bow from the 7th fret to the nut compared to the rest of the neck that truss-rod tweaking wouldn't fix. What he did was very gently and slowly heat up the neck/fingerboard join to allow the glue to soften and to let fingerboard to reseat itself on the neck, then reglue.
 3. Here's me and mine in Genesis tribute days. Listen out at 1m23s. There's another at http://youtu.be/aUx-OUMVuhc but the bass isn't as clear.
 4.
Hi all, Does anyone know anything about shergold basses. I know they are no longer made. Hand made in the uk. Are they any good? Let me have your knowledge....
Yep they're good. I got two custom doubles, one a 12/4 and the other a 4/8. Pros: Modular electronics on some models, zero fret, instant 70s rock sound. Cons: the finish is prone to cracking, good luck finding spares. The website mentioned earlier is pretty cool, and you'll see me on there
 5.
This looks like a Bassix, from the neck in particular.
And from the blurb on his blog

 9. Can the charge-back be avoided by transferring the fund out of your paypal account before releasing the goods?
 10. Or try DGCF tuning. It makes more sense than DADG.
 11. Someone somewhere should start making a range of Gefilter-branded bass hardware. It'll sell like hot sausages.
 12. The fill at 1m03s makes me have a little sexy moment with myself
 13.
Not a DT fan I guess
Not since Awake (apart from that time they did all of The Number of The Beast at the Astoria)
 14. Some of them are among the "without whom" I'd never have picked up the instrument in the first place: Geddy, Jack Bruce, JPJ, John Entwistle (missing are Tony Levin, Chris Squire). Have come to love PMac, Victa and Jaco since. I should really like Les Claypool but don't get it. (My Primus ticket is on eBay if anyone's interested). Flea, Cliff... not my thing either.
 15. Zzzz Nothing new to see here, move along pls.
 16.
Maggie Thatcher's handbag went for £20000 and she was the spawn of Beelzebub so imagine how much this will go for
Doesn't stay in tune though I'd wager the bass goes for close to £10k
 17. Here's all four sales - Mark King on eBay The bass is already £3k+

 20.
What I really like is that this is the first I've heard of it - how many people make a massive PR song and dance when doing such a thing?
Maybe not enough PR in this case! I've stuck it on the Bass Player magazine facebook feed.
 21. Mark King's selling off some gear for charity - have a look at the youtube vid
 22.
It's the only place to go in London.
Except the London branch of GuitarGuitar in Epsom of course
 23.
try The bass Gallery in Camdan town all the details are on their web site http://www.thebassgallery.com/
Not much more to say than this. Good selection of basses and friendly, helpful staff.
 24. If you've already got some bathroom scales, use those. Weigh yourself, then weigh yourself plus suitcase/bass/etc. One minus the other = postage/baggage allowance.
