  1. Good stuff! how about a bass clef/notation version for the hat trick?
  2. New Moon as well. I like that you can specify home/UK/Worldwide cover per item. As with all insurance it all boils down to the process and experience when you need to claim - which thankfully I've never had to.
  3. I was at the second Royal Albert Hall show. Jeff was great, and Rhonda was brilliant (sounded fine from my seat) Annoyances: 1. The running times were changed on the website on the day of the gig. We were originally told JB at 7.30, interval, resume at 8.30, done by 10pm. Fine lets get there early lads! We did, and sat through the insipid Sharon Corr support set wondering when JB would join in. 2. Johnny Depp - he's just rubbish really. And appearing while awaiting a trial result is being deliberating just a bit tasteless. We went to the bar for the majority of it. A couple of RAH staff I spoke were surprisingly vocal about it - one said it ruined the show for her, another said they'd received a lot of complaints that JD was even in the building.
  4. Agree Jeff Beck was brilliant, Johnny Depp terrible, it ruined the show. And I've been looking forward to this show for over two years!
  5. Interesting read about how it's done: https://www.musicradar.com/features/abba-voyage-how-does-it-work
  6. How are they doing the vocals? Is it a live vocalist in the session band? (doubt it tbh) vocals from the original recordings? re-recorded vocals by Agnetha and Anni-Frid? (and/or the lads where relevant - do they do Does Your Mother Know?)
  7. My suspicion is that not hanging around posting on internet forums is one of the essential secret weapons of the successful busy working bassist
  8. Can we talk about Mister Strings' earlobes? I can't look. I can't not look.
  9. Gary Numan is 13 days older than Gary Oldman
  10. Absolutely, and (apologies if this steps on anyone's toes) the US version of BP, and its current online version, I find is the better read. But I'll still read both.
  11. Yep, same here. It was definitely £2.50 when I first looked.
  12. I'm seeing Tool next week, I'll see if they have any on the merch stall
  13. excellent! which one is yours?
  14. It's £4.99 in the shops, so £2.50 doesn't sound too bad. Possibly worth bearing in mind it's not what used to be US Bass Player magazine, but what used to be UK-based Bass Guitar Magazine. Something happened at the publisher level to disappear the US mag (now entirely online at https://bassmagazine.com/) and replace the title with the UK mag. Horses for courses though obviously.
  15. Here's my Korean-made MAB-40 from the early 90s. My first "proper" bass after entry-level P copy. The photo doesn't quite do justice to the metallic purple sparkle finish. Also those Trace Elliot strings have been kept on to match the strap. Also note multiple Producer Switches
  16. Nice to hear Echoes! (and Candy And A Currant Bun for more niche value)
  17. With Richard MacPhail that night
  18. https://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=349
  19. I used to work with a chap who would pronounce the well known brassica brock-oh-lye We're no longer in touch of course
  20. See also the well-known bass equipment manufacturers Bruschetta and Chorizo
  21. Aguilar is either Agg Wee Lar OR Uh Gwee Lar definitely got a wee in there either way
  22. Definitely Lakeland for Lakland, after Dan Lakin. Also Wol, Say as above. Slightly off topic but what surprised me recently was cymbal manufacturer Paiste. Pie Stee!
  23. Apocalypse in 9/8 is E on the bass pedals from 16m44s to 20m 26s (on the Seconds Out version), which is nearly 4 whole minutes of tuning opportunity (assuming you can handle pedals and 12-string guitar simultaneously)
  24. Does Bassfinger have female bandmates? unlikely
