  1. Harmonic Booster + Super Symmetry here
  2. Lateralus is the better album, although Aenima has my favourite song (Forty Six & 2), said tone enigmatically
  3. Just in case: https://thejazzcafelondon.com/event/richard-bona-3/ https://thejazzcafelondon.com/event/richard-bona-4/
  4. I've counted on all toes and got to 2040. Sooner than you think!
  5. Meanwhile I'm sure everyone knows by now - the postponed Glasgow date is now cancelled.
  6. Boom, from Chicago Nov 15th, replacing Duchess for one night only.
  7. And if they had, Fear Inoculum would only have been out a couple of months by now and we'd all be still very excited about it. (mental image: Tool newcomers collectively scratching their heads)
  8. When you lay it out like that it should really be 3, 5, 8, 13 years. Come on Tool try harder.
  9. A few tips from my top shelf: Opeth - Garden of the Titans King Crimson - Meltdown Rush - R40, Time Machine The Police - Certifiable (video quality on this one is amazing) David Byrne - American Utopia
  10. I wish my playing was as gash as Richard Bona's
  11. play Seven Nation Army in whatever key you happen to be in, repeat until someone comes to the rescue
  12. Most pub bands I play in tend to engender heavy drinking in the audients anyway
  13. It's streaming (lol) on NME. Viewer discretion advised of course. https://www.nme.com/news/music/brass-againsts-sophia-urista-urinates-on-fans-face-during-festival-set-3094591 And I was looking forward to seeing them supporting Tool, which is also good advice for the chaps attempting a similar move.
  14. 2/5 in the Guardian. Some band called BAAB anyway, I assume it's them https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/nov/05/abba-voyage-review-pop-back
  15. If pushed I'd say the UW has most mileage, but the Tensor is most out there of the bunch. At the other end, Mel9 has some excellent sounds and exactly what I wanted from it, but a few that don't work as well on bass.
  16. Off the top of my head, and in no particular order, mostly from the BC Effects For Sale area... Source Audio Ultrawave Bass Banananana Matryoshka Tech 21 Geddy Lee Red Panda Tensor EHX Mel9 Earthquaker Afterneath v3 Emma Electronics Discumbobulator v2 couple of Dunlop DVP4 mini some patch cables
  17. Same here, I didn't start seeing tickets until 10.15 or so. All nosebleeds so I left it a while. Tried again before 11am, got a Block A3 seat. They'll release another date in a week or so.
  18. Sad news, what a visionary. https://forbassplayersonly.com/stick-inventor-emmett-chapman-dies/
  19. I got Block A3 for ~£70 - is that the resale price you're seeing?
  20. Presale at Wembley Arena is (of course) selling well, they'll add another date I reckon.
  21. I've had varying experiences with both bands live. Porcupine Tree in 1995 was amazing, still one of my favourite gigs ever. Subsequent shows in 2000 and 2007 were pretty dull, I left both early. SW is diminishing returns as well: gigs with his early band line-ups were great - Adam Holzman, Theo Travis, Guthrie Govan, Nick Beggs, Marco Minneman. Then the material started losing interest for me, shows and albums from Hand Cannot Erase onwards weren't as engaging.
  22. Sounds like Nick Beggs on the single, but I'm told it could well be SW himself. I quite liked the single - it sounds a bit "SW solo album" to me, I think Colin will be missed. btw the Burning Shed mailout says "Porcupine Tree is Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison", which sounds pretty conclusive.
  23. Evening all, I was been informed about this a couple of days ago, thought it might interest you lot. "A Masterclass Session with Trevor Horn CBE". I'm not 100% sure what the masterclass actually covers, but a friend is doing the sound and "he's bringing his bass". blurb and tickets: https://www.heathstreet.org/events/a-masterclass-session-with-trevor-horn-cbe-4-november-2021/ https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/hampstead/heath-street-baptist-church/a-masterclass-session-with-trevor-horn-cbe/2021-11-04/19:00/t-gqmrgv
  24. Scam. Doesn't say "Groovehacker" anywhere
