  1. This thread pretty much sums up why I lost out on a sale this week. The buyer wanted the bass, but was too far away to collect. I wasn’t willing to ship, so it fell through. On one hand, you would think if the bass made it from the USA to the UK without issue that the extra 350 miles in this country wouldn’t make any difference. I wish that were the case. I often think about how many instruments Bass Direct much ship in a year and what percentage they have go missing.
  2. Yes, I agree with you there regarding “L@@K” and those 💥 type emoji’s. I don’t even bother looking at the listings that have them, even if it is a bass I might be interested in. Nice bass, but I can’t be bothered dealing with that type of person if they’re selling it.
  3. Yes, I did mate. It’s here. It’s probably a good thing I don’t live that close to him 😂.
  4. I caved in a few months back. Still have a couple of months to wait 😬.
  5. If I could have a blue P shaped thing, it would be this or very similar….
  6. If you’re looking for a plug in and play P at a good price from a great bloke, look no further than this…. @walshy
  7. +1 @Sibob’s comments. I don’t know your budget, but I would be looking at Lakland Skyline’s or if the budget allows, USA Lakland.
  8. You know what you like and you like what you know. That can be a problem sometimes.
  9. There isn’t one of the whole of the front of the bass. I kinda see what’s happening with the MHS. I does match the colour of the back of the instrument. An unusual way of doing a MHS if ever there was.
  10. Come on, let’s see it. I would like my opinion changed
  11. Seriously, it was dreadful. It had a high fret which didn’t help, but I really wasn’t impressed with any of it given the price they were asking for it. As for the finish of the ones you’ve posted, a couple of them remind of some of the recent Dingwalls where they do that highlight border around the shape of the body. I just don’t get it. I think it looks hideous. YMMV of course 🤷‍♂️
  12. Possibly my worst shop experience ever was in a boutique bass establishment in NYC. Saw a nice looking Pensa and it felt, played and sounded like an absolute dog. Registered my thoughts with the guy behind the counter and he didn’t give a toss. I placed it on the counter in front of him and walked out.
  13. Predictably, I’ve had nothing further from the seller 🤷‍♂️
  14. I think the price point vs what you actually get has gone over the tipping point now and I for one will not be buying another Fender CS - not from new anyway. I’ve had some CS’s that were definitely ‘meh’ and I still have a few that are excellent, but when you look around for what you can get for your money elsewhere, that’s what puts me off. I have a Shuker P being built at the moment that will be every bit as good and almost certainly better than a Fender CS for a lot less £’s. As others have said, the fancy colours, MHS’s, Ltd Ed’s and Sig Ed’s all look nice, but it’s all smoke and mirrors unless it feels great and sounds fantastic.
  15. Just asked for some more photos (pots/pick-ups etc). He’s ‘digging them out’ for me.
  16. I wonder if he has any Sansamp pedals he wants to get rid of?
  17. Unfortunately the word ‘mint’ is now used as urban slang to mean nice, which indeed the bass may possibly be 😀. I do agree though that it doesn’t fall within the traditional definition of mint, especially since it has been refinished, albeit some years ago.
  18. FFS. I'd type more than that if I was selling a no name bitsa 🙄.
  19. It does sound very odd. Could it be that there is a slight bend to the Jack on the transmitter or (more likely) that it doesn’t protrude at 90 degrees from the transmitter? Does it happen in just this bass or is it the same in others?
  20. Nice. I really like K&M gear. Some of it is a little pricey, but I’ve found the stuff I have to be well designed and durable.
  21. I wouldn’t say I always mess it up, because I don’t mess it up at all now 😂, but for a while when we added it to the set, True by Spandau Ballet became my nemesis. There’s a sax solo about halfway through which has an odd little bass riff behind it. One of those ones where if you don’t start it right, you have to wait until the next time round. I’m over it now fortunately.
  22. Price drop for this fantastic example.
  23. Very well put @Muzz, although if I had written that, Fodera’s, Statii, Wal’s and J’s would all be in the 👍 column. It would be very boring here though if we were all the same.
