  1. I can only echo Lozz’s comments above. I’ve loved all the Monarchs I’ve had and have only gone through a few as I’ve upgraded each time. I’m sure this bass will make someone very happy indeed.
  2. That was the general thrust of my PM 😂. I think you can all rest easier now. I will stand you down formally in due course I hope.
  3. That does it. I feel like I’m just postponing the inevitable. @three - pm incoming
  4. I’ve had an itch for a white P bass for a little while now. I’ve been working on a shortlist of possible luthiers. Thanks to this thread, I’ve managed to cross one off 😎
  5. I remember you telling me about this. At least you were there mate, even if your advice wasn’t taken. Well done for that 👏
  6. We need some Fender Guru’s on this. Paging @Sibob, @AndyTravis, @Chiliwailer
  7. I have to say, that was my first thought as I alluded to in my first post i.e. that it could be an interesting thread, but I’m pretty far from any expert on these things. It begs the question tho, that if that is the case, how did ‘that shop in East London’ not know?
  8. The £2,719 ones at Andertons don't have the Fishman pick-up's. No images, just a spec list showing Bartolini's.
  9. It will be the same scenario as the Flea ‘61 - IMHO 😎
  10. Ah, I see. Apologies. I’m new to all this Spector malarkey, but the Fishman’s sound interesting.
  11. The Anderton ones are gloss.
  12. This is going to be an interesting read in a few posts time. The Fender experts will want some gut shots and pot codes I think.
  13. That’s a toughie. The one that really doesn’t float my boat is the black pearl. I went for white in the end because the blocks are white.
  14. @prowla - yes, I forgot the new ones have been upgraded haven’t they. Also the AC Sig has a decent one too doesn’t it? The rest of yours are retro fitted tho aren’t they?
  15. This has to be one of the best value for money buys I’ve seen on a bass all day - and I’ve seen a lot of basses today! Good luck with the sale @Frank Blank 👍
  16. I think I’m quite fortunate to be in two bands that don’t come with a load of drama, so I’m really looking forward to getting back to gigging, whenever that may be. If anything, I’ve enjoyed the break. It’s allowed me a space to be ‘bass free’, which although my brain initially fought against, it was worth doing. After I had properly chilled out and stopped worrying about all the gigs that were getting cancelled, I was then able to reset and pick up a bass again and enjoy it even more than I did before. I have a feeling that the comeback is going to be slow and long winded, a bit like getting a start up band gig ready. In respect of the OP - go with what you feel is the best for you. No one is going to judge you for not gigging. Life is too short.
  17. Ha ha. NO NO NO. It's the only Rickenbacker with a decent bridge 😂
  18. Oi 😂. I was just playing mine only yesterday. I’m pleased to see they have gone up in value, but even I have to say that is a tad ambitious.
  19. In jest of course @AndyTravis. In all probability it will be neither. I'm after a nice P at the moment and I really don't need another J. I'm wrestling with the idea of moving on a couple of Stingrays, but I had them out today and I can't bring myself to part with any of them. Such is life.
