1. from my experience the only compact camera that has a good enough mic for live music is a sony. i've had 3 and they all did pretty well. that was recorded (by my Dave Grohl obsessed mam) on a little 5 year old sony t10. aswell as the other vids on my channel. i've had more expensive samsung and other cameras but none have had half as good sound quality for videos.

3. I usually don't understand what people see in hardcore / sludge etc... but i just can't stop listening to kylesa. i find the use of dual drummers and the vocals mesmerising.

7.
i finally got around to getting a set of earplugs. just went for the etymolic er-20's. will have their first try out later on tonight at practice. I look forward to finishing a gig without ringing ears.
well i have to say, i'm very impressed. They perform exactly how they say, the same sounds but quieter. except for the fact that my bass tone seemed to be alot more clearer and i could pick myself out of the mix alot better than without the plugs in. I did have to take the plugs out for a while at practice though because we where doing a nit of writing and i couldn't really hear what me or anyone else was saying.
8. the screw from my standard strap button on one of my basses lost all of its bite, i just pit a bit of superglue in the hole and placed it in there, its worked really well, ain't gona come out any time soon. just make sure that you di it first the right time, its not really repeatable .
9. there was a topic a few days ago talking about getting this sort of thing to rack mount an rh450, not sure who it was but i'm sure they'd be interested.
10. I think my rig is going to stay like this for a while. i didnt think 280w would do me as previous mag600 never seemed to cut it... but i was very wrong. small / medium gig and practice rig. larger / blow down walls rig. or i can use the trace combo as nature intended if i wanted... but to be honest its just as easy wheeling the marshall can and a seperate head than carrying the deceptively heavy combo around. I'm quite happy with my handywork on the headcase.
11. finally got around to taking some (crappy iphone camera) pictures of my rig. in small / medium gigs and practice mode: in world domination mode: as you might have guessed the amp is out of the 15 combo and i made a headcase from 3mm tread plate. bass wise my main weapon is an atk300 but i've re-fallen in love with my old trusty washburn force 4 since i strung it with labella 760fl's. i've also got the bass i made for a product design project for my a-level last year i've finally gotten around to sorting the electrics and am half way thru installing a 3 band parametric eq from artec. There's also a rarely used tanglewood acoustic kicking around and i'm waiting on the delivery of a boss gt6-b.

13. hows about a scruffy looking v-type combo that i've seen flying about the classifieds? not sure who owns it at the moment.

15. is this by any chance still for sale?
16. are you using a preamp anywhere in the chain? the guitarist i work with regords quite alot and his recordings come out really well. i always assumed that he used a proper usb / firewire preamp but when i recorded some stuff over his house.. i was amazed that he was just using a relatively cheap tube mic pre straight into the imac sound card. as long as you use decent quality cables and a preamp, they can come out pretty well. i've got an imac too but every time i try to record i end up with a lot of noise in my signal, i think its mostly down to the use of crappy cheap jack adapters, cables and the use of a cheapy processor as a preamp.

18. i doubt that theres such a thing as an amp sim di without knobs because everyone has their own personal preferences and so by making a petal have a set tone / colour then the maker is severely cutting on clients.
19. +1 on the tiny terror, especually as you don't need masses of volume, the 15w will be plenty. also agree with the cabs, you want different voicing for bass and guitar so would need dedicated cabs for best results.
20. you could disconnect the bypass output and wire it in parallel with the muted output, but then it would just be running like a passive splitter so you could get some noise / signal loss.... probably negligible though. also...
Honestly?!? It's AWESOME! I have the two 2x12's stacked vertically with the top cab blasting the overdriven, grinding hi mids from the RBI..... and the bottom cab blasting the solid, thick, round & clean lows from the RPM.... Running each on a separate channel of the power amp means I can adjust the individual volume of each to find the perfect combination of thundering lows and grinding highs!
WANT! just when i was gas-less.
21. i prefer the red rubber rings off a grolsch bottle.
22. envy. i'm GREEN with envy. ha! i bet you can almost taste the tone.
23. imo a hybrid head would do all of the tube warmth and give more clean headroom. the main reason all tube heads are so sought after when compared to hybrid heads is because its so hard to emulate the sound of an tube power section. the orange terror bass has the same preamp section as the ad200b but with a digital power amp or 500 or 1000w which might be a better option if you want clean sound but with the tube vibe / warmth.
