1. bump, £300 posted? anyone local is free to either come have a go or come to one of my gigs and see it in action.
2. and replied. a quick look online brings up £15-£20 postage on this thing, so not too bad.
3. bringing this back from the dead, still looking for £300 for the combo or swaps for something along the lines of a terror bass, tc rh/classic, i could even go for something big and heavy like a vba400, cash your way ofcourse. surprise me. and heres some new pics, please excuse the dodgy hdr effects, having a play with the new phone.
4. hi, whereabouts are you in the northeast? also, how does it fair volume wise? compete with an old 4x10?
5. well my band, spectrum, are in the semi-finals of the marshall ultimate band competition. it'd mean alot if you go and have a listen and if you like what you hear, give us a vote. here's our video, http://marshall.lick...y.com/video/510 let me know what you think, cheers.
6. keep an aye out on the bay for pa cabs. you can pick up little 10" pa cabs for next to nothing, not pretty though. plus the more hi-fi sound of a pa cab lends its self well to slappin da bass.
7. any cash offers / trades considered....... student loan day in just over a week.... so i'll have some cash to put into a deal, otherwise i'll end up just having this spare.
8. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
9. great colour, i think with a black pickguard / hardwear and a body coloured pickup cover it'd look mean as hell. maybe slap on a set of green dr neons too
10. i've never tried playing with a metronome but i can see how it can help. i'll give it a try.
11. no matter how hard i try i just cant get myself to play fast / complex stuff smoothly. mostly highlighted when i play this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYbDKBcmVmQ my playing always end up sounding rushed, lots of fret noise and twangy. although yes it'll have alot to do with my technique and its a case of practice makes perfect... but i also think my tone has a bit to do with it. i'm playing through a fender cij precision, gt06b into a trace v-type. whenever i try messing with the eq i just end up with mud, usually the same with comp. what am i doing wrong? should compression help? boost / cut certain frequencies? i've thought about maybe raising my action too, should get rid of alot of my fret noise. cheers.
12.
I'm pretty interested in how the head case works.
i imagine it'll be like the trace elliot bright box. basically uses a hpf so it can be used in parallel with any cabs as the overall resistance is negligible.
13. i'd say the di is your best bet. running a power stage directly into a compressor and then into another power amp sounds like a recipe for disaster for all 3 parties. if you get a male xlr - jack lead then you should be able to feed the di into the compressor and power amp just fine. not sure on if the effects return is post or pre-eq but if its a post, then you could probably use that too.
14.
I'd say louder than your average 4x10 it slayed the barefaced compact when I a/b'ed them I normally gig with an 8x10 but I did an entire tour mostly without PA support with the 2x12 and it handled all my gigs fine.
thats what i wanted to hear, one of these may be in my future. matamp really needs to get more info on their site.
15. what kind of volume does the neo 2x12 put out? is it up there with the barefaced super 12, or your average 4x10?
16. might let it go for £300 ono... but i'd need to be able to get myself a new amp in time for my next gig.
17. the guitarist in my band is a butcher and every other week he complains of cut fingers, luckily it always seems to be little paper-cut sized things. in my early playing i frequently got blisters in longer gigs, but just played through it.
18. thanks merton. just the combo by its self is heads and shoulders above any of my other amps in terms of tone and somehow i'd say its about as loud as my old ashdown stack (mag600). but as i said, needs must. i'm moving into my student flat next month so i need to downsize / lighten my rig.
19. hi mate, not interested in trading the head for a trace elliot v-type combo are you? plus £75 your way?
