1. i've never been in a church except for a couple of weddings. i hope to keep it that way.
2. ultimate guitar have their own app that you can read all the tabs on.
3. the original minirig (2 1x10 cabs) was my first proper bass amp. i dont think it'd be up to gigging. i used it for my first gig, a tiny pub with about 50 max capacity and it couldn't really hold its own there against a little line6 and marshall combo. out of the two, the eb180 15" would fair best in a gig situation.... but for the money could could probably get a cheap rig off here which'll do alot better.
4. i never knew there was a UK craigslist. you learn something new everyday
5. this is the kind of cab that shows you don't need a million watts to be heard.
6. i really like my skb semi-hardcase. most of the protection of a hardcase with the extra pockets and lightweight-ness of a softcase. here
7. to the top! any offers for other tasty basses i might like?
8. heres one http://soundcloud.com/spectrumband/spectre dirty little plug there
9. sorry i let this thread go..... and now i'm resurrecting it. renewed want for a precision. gimme gimme just gave it a thorough inspection and theres the odd small scratch on the back but no major scrubbage.
10.
How about a couple of Trace 1524 2x15"s and a couple of 4052H brightboxes?
that'd never fit into a punto and i'm pretty sure one 1524 is enough doomage for one person anyway.
11. now thats a sales pitch! and there is a *gary* at most/every gig..... guitarists dad. would you ship of is it a collection affair?
12. i want this so bad, but my bad back/ cramped car say otherwise.
13. yup you're the guy. thanks for the amp and bring it up for me. its been an absolutely brilliant amp and never let me down. used it this weekend in the studio and got me a lovely tone. sits in the mix perfect.
14. I've been using this lovely amp for the last year or so and my band seems to be snowballing a bit so i need to get a bit more power behind me. she's a trace elliot v-type combo (2 valves in the preamp). looks like this: at the moment i use the amp head in conjunction with an old 80's marshall 4x10 (use the 1x15 for larger gigs) and the tone and volume is great. there are plenty of people on here who will vouch for these amps. the amp is sitting in a nice compact and light tread plate sleeve head so i have more flexibility. only the 4 stock mounting bolts where used so the amp can easily just be put back into the cab to get the standard combo back. it looks like this: i'm looking for an amp with a bit more power behind it. this one is plenty loud enough.... but i need something that will stay clean and clear when i'm blasting. this amp is the epitome of creamy smooth tone... but doesn't do crisp and clear at high volume too well. i'd love something like a bass terror but will consider anything decent quality and with some oomph. i paid about £300 for the combo so thats a base. i can put money into a deal too. i'll get some better pics later.
15. we finally logged ourselves some decent studio time to lay down our first proper ep. all done at blast studio in newcastle over 3 days, had a hell of a time. what d'you guys think? theres nothing special bass wise but i think my pieces go with the songs. 16. bump here due to more gigs and some videos. Linky link link
17. cheers for the advice. Copper tape is on the way. i'm guessing this does the job? it'll be going on an angled strat style mount on the rear control cavity, actually works out well for placement. pics when done.
18. right, so i have to get an active electronics specific jack connector then? and the wire i just noticed attached to the volume control housing should be grounded?
19. i have this preamp to put into the 5 string fretless i made last year: At the moment i only have a single MM style humbucker so the balance pot will just work as a second volume. Fair enough, but i was wondering if it is possible to wire up a piezo pickup into that second input. The bass has an unused cavity under the forearm contour which i figure would work well for a piezo pickup / a nice deep, thumpy sound. Does a piezo need any extra preamp stage or buffer or would it work straight into the preamp. I'd also like to clarify the use of the gnd connection.... i don't have any shielding (future job) and my jack connector doesn't have 3 terminals like in the diagram, should i connect it to the bridge ground? cheers.
20. this exactly the kind of cab that shows that 1000w+ heads really arn't needed. 200w rms in the right cab can be as loud as hell.
21. get a few mini uv led torch thingies and stick 'em to the amp, job done
