1. This probably isn't particularly helpful, but I haven't seen mine clip. That said, I haven't ever tried.
2. Thank you for the kind comments gentlemen - much appreciated. These are indeed a very good unit! Images now added.
3. Now SOLD - thanks More clearance - Fender stainless steel roundwound strings (code: 9050M). These are brand new and in their unopened, original packaging. Gauges are .055, .070, .090, .105. Price £10 (to include first class post to the UK). Cheers, Lozbass!
4. Now SOLD - thanks. Another under-used trinket - I bought the Multicomp from niceguyhomer on BC just less than a year ago. I tried it once then it went into the drawer. Great unit, I'm just too lazy to use it. Condition is as it was when it arrived - the black parts are perfect, the blue base plate has a few paint chips (from mounting on a pedal board?) Excellent working order and a new high-quality alkaline battery fitted. Instructions are copied from the EBS site - the unit comes in its original box. Price is £80 plus £2.50 P&P to the UK. Please pm with any questions.
5. Hi JTUK, no problem and my apologies for misleading you. I should have checked properly on dimensions and handle placement!
6. Feverishly working my way through Molan's signature...
7. Great amps - I have one just the same (and I'm pretty sure it is 250 watts) - good luck!
8. Hi, more from the clear-out: Roqsolid cover for Aguilar DB112 cabinet - perfect condition - clean and entirely as new. Price reduced to £18 (including post and packing to the UK)
9. Excellent - thanks for this - some useful insights
10.
I think Alembic call them 'balanced'.
Sometimes see it as 'Balanced K' - much easier to handle than some of Alembic's more symmetrical shapes Photographs would be great if possible!
11. Hi, is it a 1.625" nut width?
12. Now SOLD thanks. Hi all, Just getting rid of some oddities and bits: 1 set of D'Addario EXLS (short scale) super light gauge (40; 60; 75; 95) nickel wound. These are brand new in the original box (but in a re-sealable plastic bag rather than the original D'Addario inner sleeve/bag). The strings were purchased for an Alembic short-scale but aren't sufficiently long (the bass has a string anchor that extends the required speaking length significantly). The 'E' was cut (professionally) for fitting before we realised that the rest of the set wouldn't fit. The E remains easily long enough to fit on pretty much any conventional short scale bass and was not bent or actually installed on the bass. The remaining strings are not cut and remain as originally supplied. Price reduced to £6.00 (including post to UK and packing) Paypal is probably best - please PM me Cheers, Lozbass
13.
fantastic bass, tried 1 of these carbon graphite alembics about 25 yrs ago wish i had bought it,still 1 of the best basses ive ever played, and ive a had a few dozen....
I've never had the pleasure unfortunately. There's one of these ultra-rare graphite Alembics for sale on the Alembic Club site at the moment (at a firm $10k) - I don't doubt it will sell - an extremely desirable model
14.
Yes its nitro - Not sure about the dots?!? I suspect they are pearloid though. Its an Indian Rosewood board which is slightly brighter than the Brazilian to my ears. Its also nice and light which is a big bonus for long gigs!!
Just a lovely bass - thought is was nitro (a bit more delicate but looks nicer to me - the burst on yours is fantastic!). The LG4s are nice and light (I think mine are around nine pounds - the alder makes a big difference). There's a lot of debate over on TB just now re: the differences in tone between Honduran, Indian and Brazilian rosewood - I'm honestly not sure I get it (more 'ping' with Honduran and Indian). All have beautiful and distinctive grain however. I can't see the pearl effect in your dots (then again, I can't see it in the photopraphs of mine).
15.
Here's a couple more:
Wow! Absolutely stunning pair - some of the basses coming out of Rob's shop are up there with the most staggering basses I've ever seen
16. Well done Birdy - absolutely lovely - a gorgeous burst (nitro?) and I love the grain in the rosewood. Is it a clay dot board (mine are pearloid but I prefer clay!)?
17. I think Andy has a good point - I'd check out some other Fenders (and copies). I've seen this a lot on Fender clones and Fenders themselves - even slight misalignment on very expensive boutique Js. I have to admit that it would irritate me too. However, if the bass plays well and sounds good, I'd try to ignore it (you might even forget about it in a few months - it's happened to me with minor irks)
18. Can you cut deeper grooves into the saddles (some of the BA bridges I've had came without any pre-cut groove)? Routing is an option (and I've seen this done to great effect with BAs) but it's not cheap
19. Hi Rich - good luck with this one - 'sounds like a serious bargain!
20. Lovely amp at a very good price - I've just gone back to using mine as a main amp from a DB750 (just fancied a change) - extremely versatile from hi fi to solid rock tones.
